Last time Chris walked the Camino it was at the end of summer and there were hardly any flowers, so we’re both enjoying all the blooms! And of course the watermelon, but he enjoys the architecture more 😂

So many rivers and creeks along the way, did people swim anywhere?

there are plenty of rivers, almost one every day. Some swim in them but I would warn against it if you have open wounds/blisters. They are still cold this time of year for us but it's definitely better for the hotter months.

Do they take debit card or cash as payment for the rooms ? thanks i hope they accept walk in because if i feel tired i will just stop and rest whatever it is thanks

I'd say in our experience so far it's a 50/50 split. Most have taken card, but in the smaller towns and municipal albergues they only take cash. We usually have a small sum, but have used card in the majority of businesses so far in Spain!

Do you book for those hotels or albergues ? or just walk in and pay them ?

We usually don't book the hotels or albergues in advance, simply just walk in and ask if they have room (and they usually do). Only last night was the first night we ran into issues with all the albergues being full. Some years are busier than others, so I can't comment on what everyone's experience will be. Usually from Sarria to Santiago you need to book ahead because of the influx of Spanish pilgrims.

@@TheRoamingRosses Thank you , that’s what is thought too . Besides i will be traveling probably month or September when summer heat mellows down and tourists influx lessens . That way i can only bring lighter clothes etc . I may even consider cutting the walk by taking a bus from St Jean Pied to bigger cities like Pamplona , Leon , Burgos or Astorga and processed to Sarria to do the final 100 kilometers only to gain the certificate.

How are your feet? You don’t look like you’re having any trouble?

we both have Altra trail runner lone peak 6s. They are the perfect shoe for the long walks. Some people think you need full on hiking boots but personally we like having shoes that allow our feet to air out. We also use darn tough socks or smart wool. *knock on wood* NO BLISTERS!
