Sorry to hear about your concern for the secularism in your country. The stronger secular society grows, the stronger our faith must become and all the more reason to cling to God and His Christ as if our life depended on it. Then we become undaunted in our resolution to follow God, despite the mockers. I love the story of when many in Jesus's community walked away from him, he asked his apostles if they too would go away. Peter responded, "Lord, to whom shall we go?" And so it is w us. Where else in society could we possibly turn to when cultures across the world seem to be waxing colder & colder in their love towards their fellowmen? What else does anyone honestly have to offer in this dog-eat-dog world that could possibly be better than what Christ offers? Certainly we've seen how the "enlightenment" of secularism has made the world what it is today, not that it was ever that great to begin w but we seem to be at a point where, truly, the only enlightenment we can turn to is the gospel of Jesus Christ. So thank you for your posts and your courage, bc it can't be easy to do what you're doing. Since humanity is becoming what it is, we can double-down in our loyalty to Christ and be what Nephi saw in 1st Ne. ch. 14, which you recently read. He "beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the Saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the Earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God and great Glory." He saw this in all corners of the earth, though those dominions were small, but the immensity of darkness has never overcome the light.

I've heard a lot of atheists and non latter-day saints say that if they saw an angel or had some miraculous experience, THEN they would believe! But we see from the Book of Mormon that isn't necessarily true. Oliver Cowdry was told that the Lord Jesus Christ spoke peace to his heart. The Lord then asked, "What greater witness can you have than that?" Many antis mock us for our "feelings, " but 1) they are biblical ( see the story of the road to Emmaus) and 2) the Lord has told us that the witness of the Holy Spirit is the MOST powerful witness that there is. It seems like Laman and Lemuel never received this witness, notwithstanding that they saw angels and heard miraculous things.

I feel deeply your sorrow concerning your countrymen 😢. President Holland gave a talk some years ago that I have never forgotten. It was a little scary. He talked about how the Lord sends His prophets to warn, and if people ignore them, then He will speak to them in floods and earthquakes and tempests of all kinds. Sadly, I think that is what it is going to take for many. Natural disasters have a way of humbling the proud, and when they have been humbled, they are more receptive to the Holy Spirit.

If we didn't pay any tithing, how would the Lord's church run, maintain itself, and grow? Without tithing, I see us 100% falling into priestcraft. Which would be absolutely abhorrent. In the temple, you covenant with God to live the law of consecration. Which is to give EVERYTHING to the building up of zion on the earth. How can you sincerely make that covenant if you balk at giving 10% of your increase to the Lord for the building up of His kingdom?

Thank you for your comments. I hadn’t caught before that Nephi had to go up to the mountains for the inspiration of how to build the ship. A mountain is always symbolic of the temple. Just as Nephi received knowledge he needed desperately for his personal and family life we too need to go to our mountain, our temple for inspiration

I'm commenting way too much 😅 but I just wanted to add that the Kirtland temple is a bit of a demonstration of why tithing is a gift and not a burden. Those saints who built the Kirtland temple sacrificed more in the building of it than anyone else has. They didn't even have decent homes built for themselves, and they were extremely poor, yet they gave their all to build that temple to the Lord Jesus Christ. Then came the dedication of the temple, and they were visited by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and by Elijah and many others. The blessings they received that day are pretty unparalleled in church history. The blessings received were equal to or greater than the sacrifices. I think that is the part that our detractors miss! Tithing is a great sacrifice for many, but the blessings are unparalleled and stunning.

Tithing is a witness of our faith in Jesus Christ and his restored gospel. It contributes to building the Kingdom of God on the earth. In the temple we promise to live the law of consecration, which is a higher law than tithing. If you can’t live the law of tithing, how can you live the law of consecration? Tithing ALWAYS blesses the giver more than those who receive. It’s all about faith in God and love for God. Remember the widow in the Bible that gave her 2 mites. Jesus said she gave more than all the others. Surely she was blessed. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to pay my tithing, it has blessed my life immeasurably!

Tithing is a show of faith. You literally put your money where your mouth is. On your faith in christ and his church. And it aligns with the covenants that you make in the temple.

The antis love to present tithing as the thing that lets you go to the temple. They aren't being completely honest in the way that they present it. Tithing is ONE of the commandments that you are required to live. It is not the entirety of the commandments. If a man paid tithing faithfully but had premarital sexual relations, could he go to the temple? No. If a man paid tithing faithfully but denied that Jesus Christ was the Savior and Redeemer of the world, could he go to the temple? No. If a man paid tithing faithfully but was otherwise dishonest in his dealings with others, could he go to the temple? No. If a man paid tithing faithfully but drank alcohol or smoked, could he go to the temple? No. If a man paid tithing faithfully but didn't pay child support, could he go to the temple? No. My point is that tithing is one thing among many that is meant to sift the wheat from the chaff. It helps determine who truly loves the Lord Jesus Christ. "If ye LOVE ME, keep my commandments. " And it helps determine who really wants to build up zion on the earth. The Lord's prayer says, " Let thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Paying tithing and keeping the other commandments of God are ways to prove that we aren't just paying lip service to that prayer. 😊

Smith's Jesus is no longer God in the flesh but the biblical Jesus is: "God was manifest in the flesh" 1Tim. 3:16 KJV. In order to try to make things work for LDS, J.S. added extra verses and verbiage into John 1 that were never there in any ancient texts to try to separate the idea of a trinity into 3 Gods. There are 4,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Some go back to 350 AD and ZERO support Joseph Smith's claims that the bible of today has been corrupted. Papyrus fragments exist of the New Testament dated to 175 AD and show that the new testament has NOT been "corrupted". (New Testament Docs: Are They Reliable? Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1967 pp. 15-17) The manuscript and archeological evidence for the BIBLE is the GREATEST in antiquity. I pray you know the true Jesus and not Joseph Smith's exalted man from another planet who is not eternal, not all powerful, not perfect but evolving, and was polygamous. God is much greater than the humanoid of LDS and NOT just ONE OF AN ENDLESS NUMBER OF EVOLVING GODS. Jesus said ALL scripture will NOT fade away but "MANY WOLVES in sheep's clothing" will come trying to ADD to the word. Mathew 7:15 Joseph Smith changed Jesus, the Father and added you can become a GOD. It hurts my heart to see Mormons fall for Satan's lie that we can become God when there is only one eternal biblical God. God gave us critical thinking & logical reasoning for a reason, he tells us to EXAMINE and TEST what we are being taught for TRUTH. The bible withstands the truth test. Friend. That "testimony" test is of LDS not biblical. I don't disagree that you get a feeling just as Jehovah's witnesses and Muslims and Hindus. The terms set forth in Moroni 10:4 are manipulative and use circular reasoning. D&C Section 9:8-9 - tells us that if something is true it will make our "bosom burn" and we will FEEL that it is right. Maroni 10:4 says: "he will manifest the truth of it unto you" The BIBLE WARNS us against this SUBJECTIVE type of truth test. The LDS test for truth violates the Biblical test. Why? Because we have a sinful nature that can be DECEIVED. Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusts in his own (bosom) heart is a FOOL." The Biblical test begins first with PRIOR Scriptural revelation and to test all things by it (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:12-2:3; 1 Thes. 5:19-21). 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV "STUDY ... rightly dividing the word of TRUTH." Acts 17:11 "EXAMINE THE SCRIPTURES to see if what said is TRUE". 1John 4:1 says: "BELIEVE NOT EVERY SPIRIT, ... because MANY FALSE PROPHETS (J.S.) have gone out into the world." The Bible repeatedly warns us about false teachers, false prophets, false Jesuses, false gospels and counterfeit Christianity (Matt 7:15, 24:24; 2 Peter 2:1-3; 2 Cor. 11:3-4, 13-15; Gal. 1:6-9). Scripture explicitly warns us against demonic spiritual deception (1 Tim. 4:1). "And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 2 Cor. 11:14 Even when Paul and Silas delivered the truths of the gospel to the people of Berea, the Bereans were commended for EXAMINING the Scriptures to validate the claims of the apostles. There are NO Biblical directives to pray for new revelation based on a warm feeling for verification. Would you pray about the validity of the Koran or about whether or not Muhammad is a true prophet? If no, why not? Are the Muslims not sincere? They pray 5 times per day. Don’t they feel good or right about their faith? I have sincerely prayed with real faith in Christ and He has shown me Mormonism is false! I don't ask that you believe me, believe the words of the Bible that Jesus affirmed. "Before me NO god was formed, nor shall there be ANY after me.” (Isaiah 43:10) If Mormonism is true, then God could not make this claim, for he was just a man at one point; nor could he claim that no gods would come after him, for that is the goal of J.S. and LDS members. Isaiah 44:6 says, "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is NO God." & "Is there any God besides me?.. I know not one". God is saying there is NOT an infinite amount of Gods, and there is none like Him. LDS teaches that there is. He was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ Himself did" (King Follett Sermon) Either the BIBLE or LDS is FALSE.

@@brettpinion4233 Brett, what about the road to Emmaus? " Did our hearts not BURN within us?" The burning 🔥 heart was the testimony that they were with the anointed one. I am a Testament to the idea of confirmation bias being completely unfounded! I DIDN'T want the church to be true. I had major issues with both God and the church. Yet, I received an unshakable testimony that the church is true. It IS the church of Jesus Christ.

@@TorvicsVlogs It really is unfortunate....the "lord" of the LDS ORGANIZATION is Lucifer. And MANY have been blinded by the light of Lucifer. And this is coming from someone who was raised LDS, served an LDS mission, and am from Salt Lake City Utah. There is ACTUAL hope though. As soon as you renounce the ABOMINATION that is the LDS ORGANIZATION. Praying that the members remove there rose colored glasses, and discover ACTUAL TRUTH. I will refrain from going any further of what is operating behind the veil, and on the deeper echelons pertaining to Utah. And the underbelly of Salt Lake City.
