My whole life I’ve felt like I was in on the worlds greatest secret. I’ve been listening to Harry since I was 4 or 5. I’m 17 now, and in that time, I’ve never met anyone whose heard of him, which breaks my heart but also makes me feel especially blessed

I love Harry Nilsson! Such a talent who could sing anything. He could manipulate his voice and sound different in each song, but still have that Harry sound. It is a shame how many people don't really know anything about him. They are missing out.

Harry was a genius. He wrote so many standards of the 1960’s and 70’s. Great Songs..Hits! Early in his life, he played on stage. He got heckled by the audience. That one situation kept him for ever touring or playing live in front of an audience. Therefore, he did BBC and other CBS productions, etc. The films today are awesome! He had his reasons for not wanting to play live, in front of an audience. Thanks!

I just found out about this guy a few weeks ago. Im a musician/songwriter myself. This guy is so amazing. just an incredible talent. The songs "Without her" and "1941" are just timeless classics. So much emotion, so much energy but yet performed so effortlessly. I have written songs like this. they come from a different place, a different dimension. Some of you might be reading this thinking 'This guy has had too many trips". Just ask any songwriter, they'll tell you. The best written songs just fall out of you like a load of baggage you no longer wish to carry.

He is unique. Maybe his playfulness made the public believe he wasn’t a serious artist? He was so talented in so many different genres, so I guess the record companies had a hard time putting a label on him. Labels were so important for them. Work hard against gun violence after Lennon was killed. Both of them had a first born child they seemed to have left behind, more or less

What's the story with him and John Lennon?
@TheStockwell2 жыл бұрын
@@aaaaaaaaaaron92 There's a myth that the sessions he did with Lennon recording "Pussycats" destroyed his voice forever. Judging by his later albums such as "Knnillssonn," his voice recovered. But, people love a great story about self-destruction, so the shocking story of his shattered-for-all-time voice is public domain.
@wadewatson2751 Жыл бұрын
@@TheStockwell I hear a huge difference in the timbre of his voice from this performance and the "knillson" album. Here its' very clean, crisp and exact. This is Nillson at his prime, in my opinion.

A young female in Harry's organization, embezzled Harry's money. Terrible! He went to sleep one night, and he was penniless in the morning. Harry had his wife, Una O'Keeffe, and 6 kids to support! I don't know how Harry got through that period. She didn't go to jail for very long, either.
