That scene is just objectively so sick. Little boy mutilating himself with pliers and files, leaving a trail of blood and feathers across the bathroom because he's afraid of being different. And then his father catches him and, instead of being concerned that his child is hurting himself, is disappointed that he's a mutant. Insane scene to put in a superhero movie! Life changing moment in cinema. No one has ever done it like them.

You have to watch X-Men 97!! The movies do Storm, Cyclops, and Rogue so dirty!
@reynaldolorenzo84095 ай бұрын
Cyclops is the first X-Men, the leader of the team; he is an extraordinary hand-to-hand combatant; he can ricochet his beams from anything thanks to his spatial awareness of sense of trigonometry; he is so badass, and in the films he is so mediocre; he is my favorite X-Men, and X-Men 97 gave him the respect he deserved. Storm is an omega-level mutant who didn't even look that powerful in the films; "Rogue" wasn't Rogue at all; I don't know what the hell that character is, but it's not Rogue. X-Men 97 is so accurate to the characters and storylines they are adapting, and the show is a love letter to the fans, just like the Daredevil TV show. You can tell by the writing and the way the characters were handled that they understand and love these characters. For me, X-Men 97 is the second-best MCU project behind Daredevil; it's almost perfect, easy 9/10.
@alxfia5 ай бұрын
heavy on rogue I didn’t like her in the movies but ended up liking her when I saw the show like I apologize queen, we blame terrible adaptations!!
@reynaldolorenzo84095 ай бұрын
@@alxfia Yeah, you can't blame it on her; basically, Fox only cared about Wolverine, Magneto, and Professor X, and they were still nerfed and bad-adapted in many ways, but Rogue was nothing like Rogue. She is so useless in those films. Rogue powers are so freaking cool; in comics and animated shows like X-Men Evolution, it shows how useful she is. On top of getting the powers of those who she touches, she can literally absorb people's memories, talents, etc., which can help in many situations to learn about bad guys plans, secret codes, etc., and even in this they showed how much useful she is when she gained the skills of the doctor to be able to deliver Nathan. Rogue is one of the best Marvel female characters, and I am glad this show gave the respect they deserved to all the other X-Men and gave how better the characters are to the people that never read comics and only watched the films.

@shadovao87045 ай бұрын
Hi :) huge xmen fan here, very much into the comics but I do have nostalgic love for some of the movies, always excited to have conversations about xmen :) I think something a lot of people do not get his that not only are xmen and mutants drenched in queerness and queer history, xmen is actually also very very black, and what I mean by that is that the whole existence of fighting for mutant rights comes from the civil rights act, but something very sad is that we barely get to see the pov of those black mutants (queer too) and Storm arguably the most iconic characters next to Wolverine is pushed to the back, she even has been cast as the more „acceptable/tolerable“ version of a black person for a pre dominantly white audience ( LOVE Halle Berry down but Storm is dark skinned) it’s kind of sad how a lot of non black or white creators writers storytellers want to tell stories about systematic and historical political oppression and persecution but also feel the need to white wash it or remove the original minority group they draw inspiration from for example xmen, avatar (James cameron) ,harry potter, dune the list is long, its like in order for the target audience to understand relate and sympathize they need to make the characters mostly white because they don’t recognize the humanity and suffering of brown and black people, that’s why you see that magnetos story gets explored ( nowadays seen as “white enough” to be explored, remember race is a construct) but black characters opression is never touched upon , except that one time when Darwin is being killed and singled out (racism in the movie as well as behind the scenes) not to mention the whitewashing of black characters like Roberto Sunspot in two movies, also in new mutants Dani’s character having to endure racism from the white main hero (so disgusting) I need to mention that clearly magnetos story is a huge part of the comics and a lot of comic writers were Jewish and those stories have A big influence and are extremely valid, but you can tell even in the creators room there was no space for black people despite the entirety of x-men heavily drawing from civil rights act. Something I find very odd is how the ppl behind the mcu (not a fan of it) pick and choose who they deem as “worthy” of being represented, black people, indigenous ppl, east and south Asian and Muslim ppl all got a bit but Roma, Jewish, Afro Latine and even queer people were all left behind or actually erased, but let me not get into the problems I have with marvel studios and them reinforcing white supremacy and whatnot , I already wrote too much.
