This is awesome and good reference for all in - or considering - marriage. Truth be told, the enemy is in the world and has blinded many, turning their hearts to stone. As is in my case, some spouses refuse to accept the truth about God's plan for marriage and decide to leave so they can chase a happiness that will always elude them. One of the problems I had was the food and tasks overwhelmed me. He would ask too much of me and would not give me time to fulfill them or do them my own way and would not like the way I did them which frustrated me cause I could not make myself like him and do those things like him. Also the food. He loves to cook and doesn’t like if I cook any better than him and I prefer to give him the credit for it instead and so make me feel like a bad cook and failure wife. Also wants me to lose weight and I want to lose weight or fast for a few days yet he will not allow me to eat my desired foods and I feel guilty to leave him at dinner or super or breakfast even though I am supposed to be fasting yet he will ask me and will ask me to do heavy work even if I’m fasting and I feel often oh tired and burnt out after ending the day at his full desires. I mean I do have an issue where I don’t know how to communicate like him in English properly and he doesn’t know how to understand me and connect spiritually with me in a conversation and instead would go to other friends to talk and even has had an ex to talk about our relationship issues. I don’t know if I should try to fix the issues with him or just leave. I did leave but circumstances in life made me come back to him and I feel at this point it’s like God wanting us together. Yet I don’t know how to please him being so unskilled and fat. I want to lose weight but I am scared to tell him no to the foods even when he insists that we eat. I am afraid I will just gain more weight instead and I will get even more emotionally distressed. Our relationship is not the best I can see. I don’t have the confidence to tell him any of this without him saying something or getting offended at least that was the passed I think maybe we both have changed maybe. I’m watching all these videos hoping for an answer.

Caroline, I too thank you for your courage to come forth in an open forum like this and pour your heart out. I agree with Saquoiag's response, we do serve an amazing God so keep praying. I too am experiencing a storm in my marriage so I completely understand. If I may, I have a few things to recommend... 1) Bless your husband through prayer, ask our Father in Heaven to give him a heart of flesh and the eyes to see the damage he is causing and an unrelenting desire to learn God's plan for him as your husband; 2) pray for our Father to give your wisdom and strength, and to teach you where you need to grow; 3) pray that your marriage to be transformed into a godly marriage so that God gets all the glory. I also recommend you both go speak to your pastor and if your church has marriage counselors, go see them immediately. DO NOT settle for a regular counselor, only go to a Christian one - they will help you both understand God's will for marriage. And if your husband will not go, then you go alone. Lastly, read a book on marriage, I recommend the following: The Five Love Languages by Gary Thomas; The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian; Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerich; Love Talk by Les and Leslie Parrot; and The Surprising Secrets of Highly Happy Marriages: The Little Things That Make a Big Difference by Shaunti Feldhahn.God bless you
