I'm so appreciative that you featured Ms. Elaine's case, she is never far from my thoughts 😔. I'm from Glendale and I used to dance for the same theater company as Ms. Elaine. I never knew her personally, but I followed her on periscope and she always made her followers feel as if we were friends IRL🥺. I have always felt that police are not doing enough to find her, it makes me so sad. The podcast To Live and Die in LA conducted exceptional research (for anyone interested in learning a bit more), it goes into the crazy mother-daughter dynamic between Ms. Susan and Ms. Elaine, furthermore, it delves into the SA Ms. Elaine was the victim of. Anyway, thanks so much, Bryan for putting a spotlight on this case. Sometimes I like to imagine that Ms. Elaine is happy, somewhere abroad... I really pray she is... I will never forget her 💙🙏

Isn't that bizarre that they would be able to rent Elaine's room from her mom (what?!) in an effort to "preserve any if at all evidence". So they think the mom would destroy evidence of her own daughter being killed? Why would she initially put out over $100,000+ reward for information leading to finding her daughter if she had a hand in murdering her? Might be too bizarre for me.

Without evidence of a crime that is illegal. There must be evidence or reasonable reason for search and seizure before a search warrant is issued,. There isn't any thing to indicate a crime, it isn't a crime for an adult to decide to leave an old life behind nor to commit suicide. Many factors listed can lead to that last desperate act. Law enforcement did not ignore this case, but without any physical evidence they would move on to more active cases. Remember many agencies were involved to find her, a private detective searched as well, all led to nothing. Except a broken hearted mother.

I live in a ocean cliff area about 40 miles south of Malibu. There are at least several suicides every year here. I can see and hear the helicopters that are called to retrieve the body. If someone has gone off the cliff, they have always recovered the body. As for an abduction, its possible, it has happened before in Southern California. It is just that there is always traffic on PCH in Malibu. One piece of information that caught my attention. The police did not feel justified to get a search warrant of the boyfriend's home. If he was cooperating, why would you need a warrant. Wouldn't he give permission for the police to search so they could clear him and move on to where here car was found?

I’m also baffled as to how the authorities can say someone ran away or committed suicide without any proof, when they do this it’s like ‘game over’ for the missing person, clearly they’re doing a disservice to the missing person by such laziness. Someone can be abducted at gun point and there wouldn’t be blood, or a struggle; and could have been told to leave all her belongings behind. I hope that Elaine is found safe and sound, or found and brought home and that the family gets some kind of closure.

Police do not have the authority or the power to treat every missing adult as a crime unless their lives are in imminent danger or they're in danger of harming themselves or others. There are 800,000 children who go missing each yr. in the US. In 98% of missing children cases, they're returned home safely. Aside from all the other serious crimes LE has to respond to like murders, kidnappings, r*pes, DV, assaults, crashes, robberies etc., etc., etc., LE's priority when it comes to missing persons is CHILDREN! To bang away at your keyboard in order to throw LE under the bus is just plain pathetic!

The law enforcement department investigates when there is evidence of a crime, there isn't any. Elaine's boyfriend's house wasn't searched for the exact same reason, there isn't any reason to search because of the lack of evidence. A search warrant is only obtained when the possibility of a crime , search warrants are not handed out without reason. That could be unwarranted search and seizure. Any evidence found would not be admissible in court. Who in law enforcement would commit that crime? It would do your channel good to research the laws. Elaine is missing, her family is left with a gap in knowing what happened, but it sounds as if they were not forth coming about her mental status, she lost her job, dropped out of school, was reported to act strangely the morning of the last her last known whereabouts. Those factors all point to suicide It all adds up to many unknowns, empty avenues to walk. Since she has not been heard from since, the conclusion is that she has died. Sad, inconclusive, especially for her mother. r

That's pretty much a standard practice, because she had been there. I find it equally as odd, that the on/off boyfriend didn't appear all that upset over her disappearance. @@mamacitabambi3558 The moment we said goodbye, we didn't think more of that person. I don't know if his house was searched, but maybe the police had no reason to, as they had cctc that showed hee leaving in her own car. So if he followed her, there should be video from the gate of his car exiting too. I believe in suicide. She suffered from occasional depression, and a panic attack. Maybe she had one in the car, pulled over and ran away, to drown herself.

The 10 mins between leaving the apt and driving out could be explained if she needed to touch up her make up or dropped her phone in the car. I know it can easily take me 10 mins to find a dropped phone. I hope she's found alive and well. There's no mention of if her bank account was used or her mail was forwarded to a new address after she left

Boyfriend killed her. We only have his word for her "panic attack" but the fact that he wants to throw that in there makes me suspicious. Car left with keys in ignition and all her stuff, he was hoping it would be stolen to muddy the waters. He's had plenty of time to make sure her body is never found, I doubt unfortunately that she will be, unless he confesses. Really hope her mom finds out what happened to her, it must be horrendous not knowing.

Has anyone ever checked to see if she went to the doctors recently before she disappeared? Could she maybe have been pregnant and not said anything to anyone but her boyfriend. With all his rich Hollywood friends that might have been something he did not want. Second, she is a beautiful young woman and they grab them quickly or sell them in other countries in a trafficking ring. I follow many missing cases and cold cases. My own nephew Michael Gerald Steele, went missing in thin air on his birthday March 14th 2021. He was mixed up with a drug addicted woman and alcoholic. He had his own issues for many years. However, he has a mother and 2 children. There are more twists and turns in this case. Police were involved. An officer who tried to help him, my nephew stole a credit card from the officers brother in law. To support the heroine addiction she had and he developed because he was vexed by her, and was in love with her. We are not a family of means, both our parents are passed away, and I have 5 sisters, the one 2 years younger than I, is Michael's mother. The police protected the harlot and drug addict. So many things. The mother of his 2 children is also addicted to drugs and nuts. My sister has one of his children, and the boy is with the mothers family. The mother said to her son, your father's dead! She stalked my sister with cruel phone calls and texts. So did the girlfriend. In Nova Scotia Canada, there are so so many people that just vanished. We live in Nova Scotia. Thanks again for everything. Michael has never been seen again. Julie 🍁

High probability it was a police officer or someone posing as a police officer who pulled her over and told her to step out of the car. This is how such abductions often occur.

They found her car on the side of the road with no signs of a struggle or foul play. She had a history of depression and panic attacks. I think it's possible she had a panic attack while driving. If she felt a panic attack come on she could've pulled over and ran into the road. She may have been struck by an oncoming car and the person panicked and disposed of her body.

This highway is highly trafficked for scenic drives and especially early mornings for surfers. It would be hard to ditch a body here. If she committed suicide that would be hard to believe no one finding a body? This area is also used for hiking. I think someone drove the car there and left it

This case definitely sounds like foul play was involved. There's a lot of unanswered questions in my mind about the boyfriend. It sounds like a very suspicious disappearance. These cases are so exasperating. You KNOW something bad happened, but there's no crystal ball unfortunately. Really sad and cruel for the family to have to go through this.

There is alot of this and that in this story. What sood out to me is the car battery being dead which means the cars ignition was left on. People know how to turn there car off which means someone else was driving. I don't think that anxiety is a precursor to suicide depression is.
