This is the story of how the biggest cash bust in the history of the War on Drugs never uncovered any actual drugs.
In 2007, federal police raided the Mexico city mansion of the high-flying businessman Zhenli Ye Gon. Inside they found $207 million dollars - over two tonnes of $100 dollar bills - along with luxury cars and automatic weapons.
But who was Zhenli? How did a Chinese-Mexican businessman go from photo-ops with world leaders to allegedly supplying the Sinaloa Cartel? And how did he supposedly blow $157 million gambling in Las Vegas?
In this episode, we uncover one of the outright weirdest, least-known stories of the entire War on Drugs.

I'm not a fan of your videos anymore, but I figured I would suggest something to you guys, I would like to see a video of why Canada is pushing the legalization of all drug, I have a sneaking suspicion that its Asia pushing this, they are world leaders when it comes to drugs. Its worth looking into and reporting on this.

I JUST moved to Las Vegas, and after spending about two months in major casinos on the strip? I can tell you: it’s not something that was of “the past” - it’s really evident when you see the same guys, night after night, just wearing a backpack and not even having a room - and somehow putting down over $20,000 for chips at a table, playing one hand for $50, then cashing out at the cage. It’s happening every night.

When I was 18 (in 2002), I met this man in a LV casino by chance. He was blowing thru countless millions at a high roller's / whale table, surrounded by women. He lost over 10 million USD in under 30 minutes (from what people were saying) and was just laughing about it - then he ordered up another $20M in chips like it was nothing. Makes sense why now - it was prolly a money laundering operation haha. He ended up bumping into me by accident, spilling my drink. He apologized and tossed me a $1,000 chip (from the Bellagio) for the inconvenience. Can't believe it was this man.

"Copelas o cuello" translates to "either you coperate or you die" in english. The direct translation would be "Cooperate or neck" and the word neck is used to signal cutting someones neck. Is a common phrase in spanish. It doesn't necessarily mean "you die", it can also mean you will suffer or you will lose, or you really need to cooperate. Like saying "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse". There's a hidden meaning in the phrase that makes it sound more terrifying.

The biggest actual drug bust i think i heared about was around 2002, when a small plain went down in Mexico with several tons of cocain on it. The twist on that story was that the plain was registered with a CIA owned company ^^.
