And yet both republican & dem politicians kiss law enforcements' asses. Biden wants to increase police funding... Yeah, because giving more money to corrupt thieves is such a good idea 🙄 You're right. There needs to better oversight and accountability rather than flushing more taxpayer money down the toilet on departments rotten to the core with bad apples. If they refuse to clean up their act defund them.
@lancetennenbaum2509
@lancetennenbaum2509 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlcideIzMine Law enforcement and policing do serve an important and necessary role in our communities when done properly and within the confines of the law. The reality is police officers are just people, and they are only as good as the system that they work under and the training they receive. If by "defunding" the police, you mean limiting their budgets so they don't have weapons and equipment that were designed for the combat zones in the middle east, then I agree. The solution to the problem with police isn't just taking away their money, it's making sure the money is being spent properly. It's making sure officers will be held accountable as individuals for actions they commit. It is changing the culture of policing so that officers will step up and tell the truth instead of hiding behind the so called "blue wall of silence."

@old man strength Yeah when they are doing their job properly. Not when they refuse to prosecute cases that absolutely deserve to go to trial. Many DAs protect the police because they regularly work with them.
@lancetennenbaum2509
@lancetennenbaum2509 2 жыл бұрын
@old man strength I like how you act like someone being older means they are somehow more intelligent. Age garners experience, not intelligence. Regardless of my age, I know that district attorneys are supposed to be completely impartial and try whomever regardless of their position solely based on the preponderance of the evidence. What I said in my previous comment was how many district attorneys have a conflict of interest because the very same police officers that they are trying to prosecute potentially are the guys who they have known for years and who have worked with them potentially on other cases. I'm sure many DA's do a fantastic job and are completely impartial, but many others don't follow the word of the law and don't try cases that should have been brought to trial.

@old man strength Congratulations on being retired. I don't particularly care what you think, but I have a job and make good money. I have a lot more than $8k saved up, but go ahead with your stupid assumptions. I'm somehow "liberal" for wanting a transparent system? Typical piece of trash assuming they know someone and acting superior because they are insecure about some bullshit I don't even care about. I hope you have a nice retirement, but maybe watch a little less Newsmax and FOX.

My brother's brand new vehicle was stolen in Louisville. My brother called them multiple times to ask them if they found it. They kept saying, no. He eventually found out (after it was auctioned off) that they found it the very next day after it was stolen. Please do a story on this issue next. He has phone records proving that he called them multiple times to ask if they found it yet. They lied about having it, just to buy time to auction it off as "unclaimed property." The Louisville police are criminals. Attorneys even told him they couldn't do anything, because the Louisville police are so good at legally committing crime.

A Hispanic man traveling in the south to a party with food and dog in his car was stopped the police decided the soup was drugs and he was carted off to jail no one knows what happened to his car impounded his dog sent to animal control he was kept for some time before the drug lab said inconclusive. This stuff happens all the time. The courts have supported illegal search and seizure because of war on drugs makes it easy for them to steal and then keep money for that police dept to use. The courts say prove it's your cash and how you acquired it. A man traveling to a dentist in another state was stopped on highway the police took over $10k he was using for dental work and he never saw it again had committed no crime. I agree totally. This is happening in California, too. The reason is clear: Cops have one rule, above everything else: *_NEVER_*_ SNITCH ON ANOTHER COP!_ The so-called "good cops" are _just as guilty._ All cops take an oath to uphold the law. Did the "good cops" have their fingers crossed behind their backs when they swore an oath to uphold the law? When a cop has a good reason to suspect that another cop has stolen someone's money or property, the "good" cop needs to *_ARREST_*_ THE PERP!_ ...even if it's another cop; _ESPECIALLY_ if it's another cop!! Nothing will change unless/until that starts to happen. It's hard to arrest someone a cop knows, there's no doubt about that. But as long as this keeps happening, police departments are nothing more than _organized crime_ groups that prey on the public.

We had a withdrawal slip from my nephew's bank and his accident wasn't even part of a criminal investigation but despite our complaints to LMPD and other organizations we never got the money back. Just means they cannot be trusted. Police commit crimes on par with the general public. Case in point: A cop got caught fondling a dead woman's breast. Yeah, I said that right. Type it in to google. This is my hometown. Clops have been doing this hardcore. Hang out in the West End. Looking for something to do or they create a situation for fun. Search you and take your possessions. If you are stopped and you have a really nice car, expensive, you're a drug dealer. No, that's pastor. They saw all of us through one lens even if say like a 20 mile radius, everybody works, kids in school, no crime has been committed, if you own a nice home you bought it with drug money. I've been gone from the Ville for 20+years. Came back to visit and saw 26 police cruisers show up to a fight that was over before they swarmed. Caught in the drive thru for 45 minutes. No arrest, citation, nothing. Just strolling around talking and trying to appear as something they are not. Plus I read about the thefts a while back. Typical. Had a cop friend tell me what really goes on. I asked why do you not tell and his response was "I didn't do anything. That's about so and so". What? Everyone knows who these people are and do nothing. They just want to hang on long enough until they do 28 and retire with a pension. The rapist boasted about destroying those women's lives. There are no good clops. We are nothing to them and the majority doesn't mind one bit. Oh, snap! They care about the opioid voluntarily ingested, but seem to forget what crack did. This is running too long, but the rub is that I am not surprised at this. It's expected.

I of course was able to fight it but the fee for just filling out the form was $500 so I never got charged with a crime and they kept my money because I couldn't afford to argue. this type of journalism is still around. It's in your local newspaper, not on CNN or Faux News, or those commentators you see online. If people would only understand that journalism isn't commentating, maybe we wouldn't have this ridiculous notion that reporters are 'the enemy of the people.' Real journalists are getting demonized, laid off and left with nowhere to work because private equity has bought up the failing local newspapers in order to suck them dry and make them close down. Yes, and not one time have I heard democrats talk about police reform. In fact when black republican Tim Scott tried to bring the police reform issue to the table during the Trump adm., democrats refused to work across the isle. Convenient, the woke excuse that Tim Scott is not a black man of value, and repeat violent offenders are the actual victims. The only ones democrats aren't concerned about are the victims of crimes, the small business owners, and their employees victimized, and the average citizen vulnerable to the increase in violent crimes by criminals with illegal guns in democrat run cities. Brazils crime rates have actually gone down when their current president made it easier for the law abiding citizens to gain access to legal gun ownership. Btw, I've never possessed a gun in my life.

The cops are criminals in the same manner of the drug dealers on here they raided. It's just a cat and mouse game. This isn't shocking and provocative, when it's been known for decades. It's not just American police. The states monopoly on violence does not have borders, it's worldwide. Anytime you grant a human being power with impunity over another human being, he or she will exercise that power to the fullest extent that it benefits their group or individual person. This is human nature and applies to everyone (especially when a part of a group), not just cops in particular. In my opinion, drug prohibition is unconstitutional. It is fundamentally a property rights issue. Your body is your property to do with as you wish, a drug deal is a voluntary interaction between two individuals. The state does not own your body.

I will never forget the time when I was 19 and working at a gas station. A woman came in crying, and began to tell her friend who also worked at the gas station, all about how police raided her home. The woman was totally traumatized, her children were traumatized. Her elderly mother was traumatized. Her home, and all her possessions were ruined and destroyed. The police had also verbally humiliated her as well. Listening to her tell it, there was no doubt at all she was telling the truth. And to top it all off, they found nothing illegal in her home.

The shocking part, is more often than not, they didn't find a damn thing and now that person is left with a completely totaled car they have to put back together while Louisville metro drives off to find someone else to do the same thing to. Me and a few friends saw a metro cop Run a red light and t bone a woman, then tried to say it was her fault, luckily she had about 40 people that saw it and told the truth.

The cops got there as well as an ambulance and helicopter and she had just gotten paid and was headed to another friend's house for a night of fun and she never made it to our other friends house. She was in and out of consciousness the whole time and when she became alert two days later she asked about her money. She had it in her pocket at the time of the accident so it didn't just fly out of the car along with her. Her jeans were cut off of her and not one person would confess to stealing her money. For anyone who says so what they are drug dealers, I want you to think about these two examples. One if of a Marine Vet, traveling through Nevada with over 87k in cash, he was going to visit his daughter. The next is of a man who was traveling through Tennessee with large sum of money, the man was on his way to buy a classic car, the police seized his money, no crime committed, but they suspect this man drug dealing and took his money. So giving the police carte blanch to seize money when no crime has been committed and not making them count and audit money seized on the spot can only lead to corruption. Yeah I know, you would never be in these situations until you are and then you will have to figure out how can you money be criminal but you have not committed any crime. It's so disgusting, I can't stand to watch. It's a well known fact that law enforcement officers do this with impunity. I've seen it myself. It's no wonder that so many people have lost all respect for law enforcement. On top of taking money, to sucker punch somebody in the face with the butt of a gun is cowardly.

@@theharshtruth8563 Basically anything you ingest can be considered a ''drug''. A huge portion of our globalised industry and commerce is based on consumption. Yes there are horrible drugs such as amphetamines, cocaine, etc. But Cannabis for example can be processed into medicinal tinctures, salves, edibles, and much more. Heck even coffee is a drug the only difference between what you think a drug is and what a drug actually is is whatever the government mandated you can and cannot consume. Which in the case of cannabis, actually varies on a state-by-state basis. Long story short, learn basic economics.

I went to Louisville last year for the Louder Than Life festival. Could not help but notice they had the most amount of cops I've ever seen at a music festival, just standing around talking and watching the show like they didn't have a city to work for. The festival already had security the cops were just there. At one point it seemed like the entire swat team and bomb squad (with guns) was just watching the show the whole day. Went back to the hotel and local news was doing a story on a kid shot at a bus stop and 2021 being the most violent year in Louisvilles history. Hard to serve and protect when you're watching a Metallica concert.
