For me, Rick Owens remains an eye candy I appreciate from a far. I prefer other designs not because of the composition of my own body, but the brutally unforgiving silhouette of most Rick Owen pieces. Ricks design tells me that I must mold and conform to the pieces rather than vice versa, which causes little room for flexibility. For example when you mentioned that you wouldn’t be able to layer due to the natural design of the jacket. And I prefer to be able to diversify my fits and not conform to a strict uniform. I digress, great video and keep up the in-depth reviews!

Your comment has made me reflect. Have you ever worn any Rick stuff? I’d admired his stuff for a long time but thought I couldn’t pull it off. You said it’s not about body composition for you, but it was for me. I felt like I had to be a gym goth or tall and skinny. Once I got into it, I found lots of silhouette options, and discovered that I could’ve been wearing the stuff years ago. It’s been a lot of fun. That said, I’m embarking on a long term experiment with a trainer on Monday to dramatically alter my physique. And with Rick ‘s body as my reference point. So I don’t know if it’s vanity, obsession, or slavish conformity. But I look forward to exploring the edges of extremity, at least in a few aspects of my life.

@@clyff6ix401 Hey Clyff! I have only tried on Rick's jacket's while shopping at stores, but never pulled the trigger due to personal style preferences. I've contemplated on numerous occasions in the past, however, as my style has evolved, I've progressed to gravitate towards different clothing items and designs. In regards to your topic about exploring the diverse realm of Rick Owen's fashion, I'll try my best to summarize my opinion of our discussion... Fashion is a dynamic field of art; it allows use to explore and adventure into domains both abstractly and physically in an attempt to satisfy our endless creative and maybe even our materialistic mind. I believe you altering/transforming your body to conform to a body type, like Rick's, is not slavish conformity or vanity, rather it is just fashion... meaning you take the time to methodically envision a creative imagery you desire and you physically manifest it, which I presume makes you at the very least contempt and at the very most fulfilled; therefore I wouldn't associate any negative stigma's or words to your ideal fashion language. And the last sentence you stated is also why I enjoy fashion... it presents a platform to creatively explore. If you're curious on what my current style is like, it's predominantly functional clothing like veilance, arcteryx, and patagonia with a mix of thrift and grandpa core like new balance and khaki trouser because they allow me to be flexible and comfortable without having to compromise, while also not having to worry about staining, carefully handling each article of clothing, and most importantly dry cleaning expenses hahaha! Hope this condensed paragraph clarified some thoughts you may have had and I'd definitely would enjoy continuing it. Also, question: do you think Rick's clothes mixes seamlessly with other designers, especially if you weren't allowed to use monochromatic items from these other designers like basic black trousers or knits? I presume to believe the distinct uniqueness of Rick's clothing items is why I often see Rick Owens generally paired with another Rick Owens piece or a noncontracting black archive piece from Raf or Helmut lang.

What a wonderful and poetic description of this beautiful jacket. Mostly one sees a more pragmatic approach to garment and footwear reviews but you bring what is for me most important and that is the depth of viewpoint and emotional aspect of why one would spend this sort of money on a garment or pair of shoes. I just discovered your channel and checked a couple of your vids, really nice content and your music choice is top notch, Pete Namlok and ambient in general are my thing ... concerning your jackets I definitely think you got the wrong sizes, and should size up because it seems they're all really tight - they look great but dont seem very wearable (rick fan and "collector" for the last 12 years)

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard the epaulets on shoulders are also used by race car drivers so that they can be easily pulled out of a car that has been in an accident. Not sure the validity of this.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can’t express express enough in words how much this video helped my knowledge and understanding of anatomy with the Rick Owens leather jackets. The presentation was immaculate and the tone of the video just phenomenal. When they say clothing is art you can wear I think the leather jacket is the pinnacle or the epitome the zeitgeist of that statement if you will. In some ways, I believe living creatures are God’s art. To be able to feel their texture, see the intricate grain patterns, feel the robust, thick or supple leather and the scent of that “leather jacket smell.” I hate to explain why I love something but for this video I had to try because I feel a leather jacket encompasses or engages/challenges every one of our six senses in some way shape or fashion and every feeling that comes with those senses. Then rick Owens adds his avant garde touch doing all sorts of things I’ve never seen in a leather jacket before whether it’s the cut of the shrunken grain. There’s something about an artiste working with natural materials to produce something magnificent from absolutely gorgeous to me and it comes through in your collection and this video. I ordered a blistered lamb skin million after hour last video I saw the rick Owens jackets and how you had styled one of them. I’m on the hunt for the black one because how slick and cool the design grain and collar is. I mean gosh this video made my week. I want to thank you so much for doing this. Leather jackets I feel are classic timeless and a staple in every wardrobe. Seeing how different fashion houses do a leather jacket I feel is always a nice indicator as the brand as a whole overall. The leather jacket outfits rick has done and I’ve seen people style are always so unique different and original because of either the cuts plus the exaggerated shirt. It’s just refreshing every time I see the aesthetic especially in colors occasionally. Sick sick sick collection man and I hope to see more of them in the future. I mean gosh what a great video.

Poor review as you barely see the jacket on you Too dark 👎 Please do a part 2 with you wearing the jackets fully zipped up with some Levi’s jeans and showing full front and backsides of yourself in them. In light not darkness

You make a fair point. I did a color pass on the looks footage and will post it in a few minutes. It will still be dark because that's how I shot it. But you'll be able to see more.
