I've been with this mindset for a long time. I'm trying to get rid of it, it's toxic and it doesn't let you live your life or relax.

So true i feel like the rise of self improvement and stuff has been crazy over the years. Not saying that self improvement in itself is bad i'm sure it can help you, but we need stop treating ourselves like a project. It's almost like we need to but that's not realistic. Why can't we just live and just do what we want and not what people want us to do

"I am often struck by the dangerous narcissism fostered by spiritual rhetoric that pays so much attention to individual self-improvement and so little to the practice of love within the context of community"- Bell Hooks. A great quote! 😊

I think we need to have 'practical productivity' with flexibility in schedule. One thing that truly helps me is to think of how good I'm going to feel after completing a particular task; and giving myself little rewards .

Ah shoot I’ve been thinking like, I don’t want to get burnt out from doing what I love, which kinda leads just to… not doing it at all? And that is so backwards Maybe if you don’t want to burn out, then just… work for two minutes on it. Like, work on this thing for two minutes, and see how you feel about continuing. And stop doing stuff when it becomes draining Experimentation is the idea… OK so now I actually have to apply this, uhhh…
