I know that a good forehand is the result of the kinetic chain, but if I have to name the main factor, I'd say it's the shoulder rotation (and the weight forward). By the way, the follow through is just the natural consequence of the shoulder rotation. It shouldn't be a forced movement. Moving the weight forward at the same time (again, in a natural way) helps stabilize the body rotation and give direction to the shot.

Its horizontal shoulder adduction:) if you master that last part of the stroke, before contact point you will have decent forehand. 😊

A basic tennis strole isnt that hard once you explain to people that the racketface influences direction and the most efficient way to swing is to try and allow the weight of the racjet to do the work. The rest pretty much falls into place

@@stephenjones9840 you don’t swing you strike. Explain to me please how hit the ball 130km/h or more by swinging the racket? Do you also swing then you serve 180+km/h 🙂

@JA-SKI it's like like cracking a whip, take your bottom two fingers off the racket and you'll get the feel. Gotta stay smooth and relaxed.

Interesting reflection! However, don't you think it's useful (teachingwise) to ask players to deliberately produce a lag on the forehand?

Hi, what program are you using here to generate the AI commentary? Is it CapCut?

Poor article. You can see very clearly in slow motion serve videos that the racket is brought through to contact with a very explicit movement from the wrist. Other strokes are similar, but to a smaller degree.
