First of all shout outs to everyone watching this who owns a "v70" as an owner we all know that our car is old but still can hold its own... I was new to volvo til about April when i snagged my 04-2.5T. I really respect the past on how they legit became the safest car with the 240. Then the 850 estate. I drove Honda for close to 16 years. I still love my Honda. But nothing is like the v70. The smell, the feel, the quietness. Its just nuts how my almost 20 year old volvo drives better than my 2012 Honda Odyssey.

In elementary school my advanced reading teacher drove past me as I was walking home. She had a V70 Cross Country and I thought it was so cool. Years later she inspired me to get a 2002 S60 2.4t as my first car! While it’s long gone I’ll never forget it. I’m 26 now and I just can’t believe I have a memory like that still with me. I do miss that crayon smell of the leather 😂

It's a fantastic car. Mine has the same paint job but different wheels. I bought a 2008 V70 2.4 Classic with a manual transmission. The classic trimlevel is probably not available in the US but here in Sweden it was. Classic is the last model year of a generation of cars, they are always well equipped for a good price - sort of to make a last run for the generation. This is awesome because it means all the minor faults since its release in 2000 has been fixed, and you get some cool stuff like a gauge cluster from the V70R but grey instead of blue, and other cool stuff. It's a tank of a car - comfortable and reliable. I love mine and will probably have it and take care of it until I graduate university, get a job and later buy an EV as a daily driver, it will be my last ICE car (except for maybe some fun weekend car in the future)

I love the sound of the i5 (big part of why I bought it) and am going to get my exhaust done too. It's not very fast, but it's a fun car! I learned to drive on a 2001 Volvo 70 xc turbo charge (I think that’s the model) and it is such an amazing car. I once got into a crash and since it was a steel frame, me and the car was fine but the other car was destroyed completely (not my fault) also you have literally no blind spot, only down side is the miles per gallon and it doesn’t look super great!

MY experience with a number of Volvos is the opposite - VERY reliable. One was a '90 940SE - which when I sold it (moved to Europe) had 310K miles and the engine had never had anything but scheduled services. Everything worked, the A/C. the sunroof, looked like new inside - outside was sunburned - lived in AZ. Over here I've owned a three V70's, two C70, and presently have two auto XC70's with Volvos's D5 (neither slow nor unreliable). My experience with unreliable Volvo's has been they had little or no service.
