The Naive Man from Lolliland is a student short created by J.G. Quintel (creator of Regular Show) in 2005. It was aired as part of the Nicktoons Film Festival in the same year. Once Nicktoons became Nicktoons Network later the same year, they continued to air it as part of their "Short Breaks" that they used to transition one show to the next. Quintel really enjoyed the character in this short and decided to make him a permanent character on his show "Regular Show" which premiered 5 years later on Cartoon Network. I think this short film was supposed to highlight the pitfalls of tips, and the challenges of these pose for foreign customers with foreign currency or unused to tipping. e.g. In Australia (and the UK too I believe) people don't have to tip, and generally don't. As an Australian, I find the whole tips thing really strange, a bit antiquated, nerve-racking and somewhat forceful, but I likewise understand its ramifications as a custom and economic measure in places which still have them as mandatory.
