This song is reminding me of a crazy period in my life: my teenage years. It`s nice when music does that, when it takes you to places you can`t go back to, but you can still see them as you close yours eyes. No one said life isn`t a scary thing, but it`s so damn beautiful and full of new things to discover every day.

Guys, the song is NOT saying that youth is always the greatest time of life, you're focusing too much on the video and misconstruing the lyrics. The message that this song is giving us is 'We're ALL young and naive still', not 'Only the young are naive'. It's about the fact that in even if you're 80 years old, there is still always new things to discover. 'Trying to find the in between', 'Fall back in love eventually', 'THE MOTIVE CHANGES LIKE THE WIND'. It's clearly just trying to inspire and remind people of their youth, to bring them back to a time when discovery, love, curiosity and ambition are at its peak. Guys, age is simply a measurement of how long you've been on this Earth, the only thing that holds you back from embracing your inner 'Young blood' is yourself and the limitations that you put upon yourself. Go out and have fun and be impulsive. Live your life.

I accidentally saw this band live in Sydney 10 years ago, I was 18 at the time. They were playing as a pre headliner to new order which I was unaware of. No one new this song as most people in the crowd were 40+ years old but me and my friend recognised it from the radio and created our own 2 man mosh pit. Everyone hated us. It reminded me at the time how cool I was to be young and youthful, now i'm 28 and this song is over 10 years old, somehow. Time goes fast.

We all want our lives to be like music videos. I'm a 17 year old girl, and damn I wish my life was like this video. Crazy wild and young. No cares or responsibilities. Discovering myself, going on crazy adventures with friends, doing amazing things. I feel the same way when I watch Skins lol. But in reality, here I am on my computer playing games, avoiding the outside world because it's fucking terrifying. These videos never seem to capture the reality of life; school, work, being able to afford food and other basic necessities. Songs like this make us wish our life was more, because it feels like we're wasting our youth with all of those things. Because we see this and think this is what our life should look like. Anything less is pathetic. Idk where I'm going with this, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say. I love this song and this video still. Just gotta keep reminding myself that it isn't what life really is. Don't worry, you're not wasting your youth. You're fine where you are.

Thank you for being part of my world for the last decade. From the thoughts of a naivete 20 year old to the memories of a 30 year old. It's what music is meant to do. You've accomplished that for me. To me the song is in one sense about the fragility and fickleness of young love. Trying to find the in betweens is about finding something between times of grief and times of content, the yo yo of a breakup if you will. an acceptable normal. This is my translation anyway.
@PeepsILoveEllie9 жыл бұрын
I think we can agree that this is *the* song about being young. it's not even the lyrics.. just the beat and melody and the singing.. maybe the time it came out too.. and/or the music video. this is the song that symbolises youth, the one all young people are trying to live up too, but being carefree is not as easy as the media makes it looks like. don't worry about it, no actually you can worry, be carefree again, be lazy, be active.. there's not one version of being young.. just to try to be yourself and remember not to take life too seriously, cause the meaning in life is to enjoy it while not hurting other people.
@bransonfredricks53959 жыл бұрын
+PeepsILoveEllie I would generally agree: don't go lookin around to spoil other people's fun. However, if this fun is actually hindering them from finding themselves, resulting in them trading fulfillment and lasting happiness for temporary, destructive indulgence of one's desires, taking action to bring one to the former might mean tearing them away from this false happiness. But again, since this is helping them more than hurting them, maybe it actually coincides with your statement... idk. (btw not wanting to start a flame war, just wanting to spread love)

Do you remember your youth? Perhaps that moment in life spent endlessly gazing at the horizon. Wide eye, reckless, and pondering that glorious moment when you would escape into the great unknown just beyond the hill into a future possessed of wonders yet to be discovered... and, what was life to you but a great adventure full of possibilities. Youth, that moment in time when you had yet made no choices, felt none of the consequences of the roads you chose to travel, when all the dreams you could muster had no cost, when hope was just a whisper and had no weight for you to bear, when love was something to be discovered and not built with blood and sweat…

No offense to the song, and also not directly any offense to the video, but I need to say: stupid modern days, idolizing youth and thereby ruining the rest of our lives in our minds. Its Not - Just Kidding....IT WILL BE, if you 100% TRULY apply yourself. If you (I, we, etc.) don't do the 100% it leaves a lot left up to chance (even at 100% chance can hurt you sometimes but its like Karma fixes that quickly when doing 100%). This is very apparent when you (I, we, etc.) ARE doing the 100% and things are getting "better", but as soon as you (I, we, etc.) get complacent or "off-track" = only 90% or less; then before you (I,we, etc} know it, things can turn to SHIT. But basically no matter what a persons age is (50 here) its always what you (I.we, wtc.) MAKE it. Peace, Good luck, & Have Fun!

Reading everyone's teen/college memories hurts when you never had those experiences. I was stuck in depression and social anxiety since 16. Now I'm 31 and still wondering if I'll ever get to experience what being young and having carefree fun is like. I'll be "too old" to do anything I should've 😞

So good. Till you hear the whole of the album. This song is lovely but the rest of their songs are fucking incredible. I only swear when I can't explain how enchanting they sound and look. They have it all. Still so young. Only 30 or so. Hope they go on forever. Most raw talent I have heard ever! Heard a few generations worth of music. Nothing compares to this. So addictive. I'm infected!
