I prefer the voiceovers during the edit. It sets you apart from others and I like how succinct it is with a tutorial and you can have all your words chosen in the edit instead of just all the fluff that goes on when people are trying to do something while they talk about doing it in real life.

I've been using a similar foamer for a long time, though much more cheap and less well made (from Ikea), and it does work. It takes a bit of practice, and it does not handle big quantities of milk well, but I've been able to get quite good milk textures and some latte art (though I'm bad at it xd).

Thank you for the thorough review. I wonder how many cups one can froth before the battery (or even the motor) dies? Will check it out as a portable option for my VW bus when I‘m off-grid. Otherwise fond of my induction frother and milk warmer by Severin. Frothing obviously only works if the (oat/soy) milk is warm.

I'm really happy to see this because I wanted a real espresso machine like a Profitec pro700 but due to some other financial priorities, I am gonna go with a super auto for now. I prefer plain espresso but I love making more presentation-oriented tea-based drinks for my wife and daughter. The super auto I am getting does froth milk but not with a wand so on days when I have more time to put into the drinks, I'll use this instead of letting the machine do the work. It'll be a nice treat for them and I enjoy the process. But someday I'm gonna get that damn profitec 😎

Impressive-looking gadget & solidly built! I bought a battery powered 'stirrer' to mix protein & other drink powders. It was cheap & actually works to do what I wanted done. The 'stir' end is just a circle of coiled wire, spun on a thin & chintzy shaft. I just tried it on some milk for my afternoon coffee & it does a remarkable job. The NanoFoamer looks to be more substantially-built & if I foamed enough coffee milk, I'd definitely buy one!

For the good of the order, if you heat up some milk until it just starts to steam in a saucepan, pour it into a french press, and then vigorously pull the plunger in and out, you get awesomely foamed milk every time. I have a crappy 8 dollar 2 cup press left aside just for this purpose. The only problem is that you are dirtying 2 dishes, assuming you just use the french press to pour!
@bigglyguy8429
@bigglyguy8429 3 жыл бұрын
awesomely foamed" is somewhat subjective. This thing (seems to) equal a steam wand, which is in an entirely different league to thwaking the milk with a French press (which if nothing else will make it go cold before you can use it)
@samesparza2149
@samesparza2149 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have a ninja product which works in a similar, albeit more efficient, manner to a French press. It definitely does the job for general foamed milk but not with the precision of something like this and definitely not even close to a steam wand which is what this purports to do. And from I gather from the baristas I tend to look to for insight, this thing is pretty legit.

What makes this different from a regular handheld frother? Seems like the result is the same? Am I missing something?
@slicedpage
@slicedpage 3 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that too as I have a regular cheapo frother. This video has been a bit of an education for me. Whenever I use my frother,yes I get plenty of frothy milk but when it comes to pouring it into the coffee unfrothed milk goes in first followed by a lump of froth. The longer I use the frother the bulkier the milk gets but not as dense as this does. And I think its the frothing screens that give it that thickness that looks so great. However I have no intention of paying £25 for the perfect cappuccino . I'll wait for the Chinese copy.
@ScottColeDonohue
@ScottColeDonohue 3 жыл бұрын
@@slicedpage you can actually resolve the problems you mentioned with a cheapo frother. I use one myself and can do very basic latte art with it. There is just a learning curve involved. To stop milk getting too bulky for example, you have let air in for a brief period and then submerge the frother so that air can no longer get in while you incorporate and break down the bubbles you formed. If your frother spins too fast this is next to impossible, so you can let the frother skim the edge of the container to slow it down. And Ive just realised how fucking sad I am that I actually have that down to an art lmao.
@slicedpage
@slicedpage 3 жыл бұрын

It seems to improve texture.

Very nice video. I've used these cheap wands and the foam sometimes gets thick very quickly (most likely my fault). But this wand is different with that kind of fan and sort of a sieve instead of this kind of round spring that they normally have. I guess that's what helps to create a silkier foam just like frothers also have a kind of net/sieve. Interesting product. And another great video. By the way, since you posted this video already 2 months ago I guess you already got comments and noticed that the lapel mic wasn't working. You pretty much used the camera mic. You can notice it when you lower your head almost speaking to the mic but the sound was the same. Then when the camera gets close to the coffee (and you), your voice sounds louder. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you figured that out by now. Cheers!

Would have been great if they’d combined it with a temperature probe

How are you heating the milk? the only problem I see with tools like this is you have to heat the milk in the microwave which seems tedious - currently trying to find a frother that can give me flat white consistency but struggling to really find anything. I used to have access to a espresso machine and loved doing latte art, so trying to find something that I can use at home
