Some of the worst snakes and backstabber in my life were the very people I gave the most to. Shocking at first but no longer surprising. Give to yourself first and when someone proves that they really give a damn about you, then you can give to them. Of course, you will be fooled now and then but at least you can try to weed out people who are not deserving of you - your energy, your empathy, your generosity, your encouragement, your spirit. Be careful helping an ailing snake. Chances are once they are healed and feeling better, you will get bitten.

I have been experiencing this. I was under the impression that there are some people who were trying to locate me as well as a possible good, genuine romantic partner later on in my future. I still stuggle waking up in the night in a cold sweat as to what my ex actually did - still waiting on the lawyer. It was all a big lie, least I left with some kind of dignity left. Tying to recreate myself , limited people in my life. Yes , I learnt the hard way - truly evil and soul-less. He gets what's coming to him. I truly hope people see through his BS , it doesn't hurt so much now time has gone by. But I think I am still in shock. Trying to look after my health. I have changed - so wary of all people now. I just hope there are no more major disappointments in my life. I can't handle any more. I am just existing , growing my vege garden and slowing down , but I always look for distractions.
