I remember a narcissist who was obsessed with her ex-husband; her obsession with him was so intense that she called her current one by his name (detail: the two are cousins) and told many stories about when she was together with her first husband, clearly demonstrating that those were the "best" years of her life...

That sounds like a really tough situation to witness! It’s fascinating and frustrating how some people can become so fixated on their past relationships, often at the expense of their present ones. It’s a reminder of how important it is to recognize these patterns and protect ourselves from emotional manipulation. Thank you for sharing this insight!

It's been two weeks for me. She played me for a fool. She told me she didn't like being hugging or touching in public. I'm Like what the hell world you were born in. I spent so much money on her and was so good to her. Left me for no reading like a pile of trash.

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this; it sounds incredibly painful. It's tough when someone we care about doesn't appreciate us, especially after investing so much. Remember to take care of yourself and focus on healing. You deserve better!

There's such an overlap between NPD and Borderline PD in the "I hate you/don't leave me" regard. It's just called a discard/hoover with NPD. BPD ppl might have less shame when it comes to the "don't leave me" part and fear of abandonment, but make no mistake: narcs are playing the same game. No thanks, I'm good.

You make an excellent point about the similarities between NPD and BPD, especially regarding attachment and fear of abandonment. It’s important to recognize these patterns, as they can be incredibly damaging in relationships. Prioritizing your own mental health and setting boundaries is key. Thank you for sharing your insights!

Haven't heard anything from my ex covert narcissist, in almost 2 years not a peep.. I guess she's not coming back.. All I get now is, calls from Private/No Caller ID, and if I answer they hangup.. But I don't get those alot.. Just once every blue moon

It sounds like you’ve made significant progress in moving on, which is commendable! The lack of contact can be a relief, but those mysterious calls can definitely be unsettling. Trust your instincts, and remember that prioritizing your peace is what matters most. Stay strong. You’re doing great!

I'm a self-aware diagnosed narcissist, and this was pretty spot on.I am not living to impress anyone, I am living to do what is right, but it is only through God. I hope there's enough information out there to tell people never to go back though, I never advised that even on my own channel here.
