The NASCAR playoff format explained

Playoff recipe is fine, but the stage racing needs to go. It seems to artificially over-value points when they do not need to be.

What baffles me is there's only one race that decides a champion. In a season of motorsport, that is most definielty flawed if you're trying to crown the top driver. You could have a driver that is good at every other track but can't put it together on the last one and they lose 🤨

​@@tomastichy7629 then they will be eliminated based on points lets say you are the car 17th who won 1 race, now u have more points than the car 16th who won a race then u advance he is eliminated based on points. But the primary rule is who has more wins has priority in playoff lets say I have 3 wins you have one, I am automatically over you to advance even if you have more points than me

Why do more than 4 cars race in the final race then?

I dont understand this either. Why would you allow that. What if someone other than the top 4 wins the race? What if one of those people purposely interferes with on of the top 4 people and causes a crash. For example if I'm not in the top 4 and my teammate is, I could go take out one of his competitors, I have nothing to lose.

Win in Race guarantee place in Playoff ... there is 26 races, but only 16 drivers could be in Playoff. Something is missing to me here ? what if we have 26 different winners ?

Correct me if I'm wrong here but every stat and everyone on TV says you win then you are locked into the playoffs! This is only true if there is 16 winners or less. They should stop saying this. If there are more than 16 winners the top in points would get the spots pushing out any driver with a win but less points! So it is unlikely but possible to win and still miss the playoffs!

nice and simple ! we thank you. i just have one question if one driver win a race for example daytona 500. and then he only finishes 40th for all the rest of the races. will he advanche to the playoffs?
