It makes me sad, but also angry. If JFK had not been executed in public, in broad daylight, America would have pulled out of Vietnam, by 31 December, 1965. 58,000 would not have died. 🫡😔

As I stated the first time you featured Carlos, the majority of your narrative was somewhat correct. He and I hung in the same circles; so I say what a shame you didn't air an actual interview with him. I knew Marines that talked a lot of smack (Ron Ermery comes to mind), but Carlos was the exact opposite - he was as down to earth as they come.

His story, although amazing and legendary... His story is often greatly exaggerated. I own a book written by Carlos and another one from a different author.. And I've watched numerous documentaries .BUT there has been interviews with guys that were actually in 'Nam with Carlos.. And like the majority of war hero stories...others would hear a story then add to that story when told to the next guy. Like the "telephone" game.."

Was at the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial and the Illinois Fallen Soldier Surround of Honor Memorial in Marseilles, Illinois today, 11/23/2024. Both are beautiful and both honor our Heros. I have a family member that made it Home from Vietnam but the War never left him. He died way too early. He left behind a wife, three small children and many who Loved him. He is missed. PTSD is real and America owes our Soldiers all the mental, physical, financial and psychological help they will ever need. May America’s Political Leaders who lied and deceived America about the Vietnam Conflict rot in Hell for all eternity.

When you think of snipers the first name that comes to mind is Carlos Halfcock. He gave his all and then some for his fellow Marines who would die in greater numbers if Carlos had not took the effort and took the easy route. 12. months and come to stay and put his feet up knowing he had served. As we all found out that he was in terrible pain in the end. R.I.P

This isn’t accurate. You portrayed the Native Americans putting on “war paint” and then showed the video of the filthy 13 and Jake McNasty preparing for the D-Day drop. I love history, but when it’s not accurate, it affects generations.

@@ugteguQuite a bit, actually. I'd be more than happy to send it to you via email as KZbin will flag the post due to size and source citations (there's a lot of numbers, so KZbin algorithms will flag it). The information is readily available for anyone, one just needs to cross-reference the events and dates he claimed with actual Marine SITREPs and Command Chronology reports at the time to see that it was false. I know a lot of people eat up his stories and believe every bit of it, but the vast majority of it never happened. John J Culbertson, author of 13 Cent Killers, was a Marine sniper in the Da Nang province at the same time as Hathcock and disproves quite a bit of Hathcock's stories as well. Again, I'd be happy to send you the information if you want it.
@ccramit2 күн бұрын
@billwillson5361 All the best intel in the world but no one knows the identity of the general that Hathcock supposedly killed? Yeah, that dude was lying. Maybe he was a skilled sniper, but neither side has any evidence that verifies his crazier claims. I mean, you would at least think the Americans who sent him out to kill this general would have recorded the name. The CIA doesn't have an identity?
@ugtegu2 күн бұрын
@@radishfox308 I’m not saying all his story are 💯 true. It would be very hard to find any hunter that does not embellish there story’s. The point is you where not there you are hiding behind a keyboard ripping apart a man that gave everything for his country. You were not there. You have never met Carlos or any others Marine that knew him so your opinion is based on nothing but your own feeling and 3rd hand accounts. The only thing you can be 💯 sure of is that Carlos was more of a man then you will ever be.
