You know what really won the war? Russia... at least in the European theater. Russia lost more men in the one battle for Stalingrad than all allied losses combined in the entire war. And that battle was concluded before D-day.

Honestly, I’m my opinion, we should have never been there. That war went on for what, over 10 years and nothing was resolved…. Then that brings up the uss liberty, which is a whole other bag o worms….

The grit displayed by these men is incredible. Today's estrogen flooded society would label them as toxic and misogynistic for putting their duty ahead of themselves. We are lessened, a diminished species.

Was it really the intention of the North Vietnamese to turn Vietnam into a communist country or was it originally trying to get rid of it's colonial masters, the French? When Ho Chi Minh asked America for help he was rebuffed. So he asked the Chinses and they said they'd love to help. That's how the North Vietnamese became Communist. America, making enemies out of potential allies and the forever war rolls on.

Some things never change, in Vietnam there was too much "friendly" fire. Not all was accidental...

I grew up hearing "monte castelo" dozens of times on TV. When I was eleven I found a book named Monte Cassino ou our bookshelf. Sorry, Monte Cassino was a battle; Monte Castelo is a battle only here in our fucked up banana's republic.

The little coward Marion (John Wayne) made a movie that was a stinking lie and tricked more than one young man to sign up for a war crime supporting a corrupt and criminal government that was despised by the people of south Vietnam.

Most of his kills came from an M2 .50 caliber "Ma Deuce" HMG complete with tripod and a massive scope on it. He would get single fire kills up to 2400 yards from the base camp. I guess he wielded the original Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle!

"No One" thinks much, or talk much about the DEAD and Wounded Allies! The "RED BALL" took care of a lot of these Men Too! Had a buddy as a kid in Armor recovery, and maint, about everything that ran. He loaded frozen Ally's in the duce's like fire wood, once he used a bow saw to get them to fit better after an SS Massacre or more in France and the Bulge. My 1st grade teacher was decorated with lots of precious colored medals with purple hearts, 101st Bastone fighter Mighty Man! Played guitar, and sang Chritian Songs at Every School Event! Everyone knew they Hap to paid the Butchers Bill! Everyone Knew their bill may be more or less than the other guys'? THEY PAID TOGATHER! Nothing mattered but WIN so we all go all Home.

Jerry Shriver was apart of tiger force which saw massive war crimes being committed on Vietnamese civilians. I am new to this whole subject but from what I hear about the unit and those who lead said unit, Shriver is not someone who should be praised. They were committing so many war crimes that other units that met with them were repulsed by what they were doing. It was getting to the point that even when their lieutenants told them to stop, they wouldnt.

Winning the war was already accomplished. The nuclear option was engaged to show the Russians that we had the ability and would use it. Other than the flexing of muscle there was no need. That comes from someone who knew all the secrets...all the secrets.
