THIS MOVIE HURT. Fucking hell. What I love most about this film is that you can see that every character in this movie is hurt in some way, and due to that pain, is now fighting for what they believe in because of it. Tommy's backstory is by far the most tragic of the two brothers, but in the end, I found myself routing for both in the final fight. Both had equally as valid reasons to fight, non of which seemed to be contrived in anyway. I think that's what really makes this film so special; it reflects how in real life, sometimes knowing who the 'good' and the 'bad' guy really isn't that clear cut in the end. The father played by Nick Nolte was also equally as sad as well! This film deserves way more credit then it's currently received.

Warrior is one of my favorite "fighting" movies ever as well as "drama". The ending song, editing, actor's emotions after Brennan made his brother Tommy tap out and telling him "I love you Tommy. I love you." And the tears and the rising beat of the song and the shots of the wife, the students, the crowd, the dad... was just a masterpiece to say the least.

I've been listening to this song for twelve years. It was the first song I heard by the national (and this is my favorite version of the song) and they've been a lowkey favorite of mine since sleep well beast came out. It took me a while to figure out why this song specifically resonated with me. I know the lyrics portray a relationship struggling from a breakdown in communication. But for me in the back of my head the song was always about knowing I should reach out for help in dealing with my unresolved traumas before I lost myself. The part of me knowing I could do better if I was willing to try asking the damaged part of me how close am I to losing myself. I've been in therapy for seven years dealing with bpd and anxiety. I'm not out of the woods yet but I've made progress. I know if you're struggling, you can too, if you keep at it. I revisit this song every now and then to remind myself how far I've come. Fuckin hell those strings are magnificent.

I lost my baby son Hudson on the 4th of December 2022 last year and I’ve never felt pain like this. I keep trying to get help to talk about it but no one wants to know. I’ve never felt any of these feelings so there all new. Does it get easier. Feel like a wrapping a 60 foot rope round my neck and jumping of the Kingston bridge. But what does that solve. We tried for 4 days to get him admitted to hospital but we’re ignored till he got really bad. Then sadly past. No one cares anymore. The way my son was treated, his wee body all bruised like he was a casualty of war. Aw Hudson Birrell. I miss and love you. This song helps deal with the pain of all this. The issue with this movie is that at its face, it came across as another “it’s rocky/karate kid but mma” films of the time, and the trailers did nothing to dismiss that impression. At its core, this movie is about two brothers. Then as a sub layer there’s a dynamic between three men; two brothers, and their father. All of whom are equally as traumatized and desperate as the other, and neither knows how to be vulnerable enough to say, “hey, I’m hurting too.” and that’s it. This film is a beautiful little gem that pop culture hasn’t entirely exhausted yet, and I love it.

Found this on a blog, don't know the man's name or such but thought this was a pretty amazing interpretation of this song- "This is the sunset of a relationship. This is when love is a dying flame. This is when a man cares so much about a girl, that he lets her walk away. Though he asks about her day, he knows the inevitable and wonders when that day will come when the sun will sink behind the mountain and go to bed alone. We've all been this man, where the woman simply doesnt understand how much we care, nor understand that our life, is her life. In the end, no kindling will restart that flame and you're left to watch her backside disappear into the dying warmth of the evening sun. All this because a man loves a woman."

This movie aged like a fine wine. There are plenty of great movies about boxing /mma teaching us to stay strong and get rid of all those shxt days we've been through. But only this movie touched me deeply. Not just because the plots and character settings are so relatable, you will see different characters when you get older. First, being a Tommy who is sharp and cool. Then you see Brendan's determination. At some point, being A Frank, who can inspire and help others, and at the same time, help himself. The" You don't knock him out, you don't have a home" line gets me through hard times. But for me, the most difficult thing is saying the magical words( " I love you ") to my brother and my father. I guess that's it, there isn't a chance for us to fight and get on. When the time is long enough that we could forget about the past and move on, just like now, I am still on mute.

I can watch this movie a thousand times and still feel the same emotions I always felt. Hits deep within. One of the greatest movies ever, so sad it wasn't a box office smash. EVERYONE I tell to watch this movie can not believe they haven't heard of it or seen it. No one has never not loved it

My kid brother committed suicide August 2022 . This song was special to us both, so when planning his funeral and the family asked my opinion about what the music should be I didn't eveb need to think about it and this song was playing as we carried him in the day after his birthday. R.I.P Matt and I will see you when I get there x

I really don't know. He had been reclusive for a long time and developed an alcohol and drug problem, he was the type to keep everything to himself and shut everybody out. He didn't leave a noteam to help us understand. He was just deeply unhappy and had been for years

In my English class, we read a short story called Amigo Brothers and it was about friends who both wanted to win a fight called the "Golden Gloves". They were both boxers and the story didn't say who won, but that before the referee announced who won, they were already walking away, arm in arm. We watched this movie to compare it to the story (we're gonna do an essay on it) and I absolutely loved it. I was bawling by the time the song started and I was freaking out. I kept screaming, "Stop it, Tommy! Tap already!" The movie is an 11/10, too good.

Back in 2015 me and a bunch of friends were at a festival , we were feeling pretty rough after a night out. We were drinking the next day along side a cliff on a sunny beautiful day having a good laugh. Us irish not used to the sun at all we all got sun burned pretty badly! I asked my friend for his phone to play a few songs & i was surprised to have seen this song in his playlist as he strikes me as a really happy energetic friendly giant. From that weekend on we became great friends and always used to have endless great memories. Unfortunatley a year later he passed away due to a car accident , its his 2 year anniversary now and i always wish i could go back to that weekend where we had the best of craic. :( missing you always Ryan , you will always be missed greatly. ❤🙏❤🙏

Love is the pain, but is also the remedy. It makes wounds, but also heal wounds. Love breaks all, but can fix all. I kinda think that the hole MMA thing was a backstory to make context for a story about love, about family...

I looked up the meaning of my name, which someone told me to do awhile back and it means (defender of man/ warrior, God is with us) and every time I look at this movie I have some deep realization about my past, and healing and perseverance. I see myself in both Tommy and Brendan, and I’m still hopping and praying that the Brendan side of me wins. This will forever be my favorite movie, the song just solidifies it more so. I loved a women very deeply when this movie came out and hearing this song always brings up good memories oddly

This song brings up so much emotions to me. Found out devastating news about my wife's health and brings me to tears. I'm not much of one to show emotion but this song does it. Not trying to sound like a sob story but everybody has a story. Some greater than others. Just remember there's always an ending.

One of the few movies that touched me like it did- so raw, so incredible. I have to admit this was one of the only movies I did not want the underdog (Edgerton) to win in, just because the direction, character development... literally everything was tear wrenching.

I told a friend about this movie a couple years ago. He asked me what it was about and he rolled his eyes thinking it was going to be something like Bloodsport with JVCD. I told him that it was an awesome movie well worth the watch. He called me a couple days later and couldn’t believe that he had never heard of this movie before! It should have been a major box office hit.

I watched with awe The National live at Thebarton Theatre Adelaide. This song was a highlight on an unforgettable night. Pins and needles is what was delivered on more than one occasion that night. Of all the performances from many brilliant artists I have witnessed this night was one of the very best with the exception of Damien Rice and the angelic voice of Lisa Hannigan at the same venue.

Me and my brother would fight allot. Im 15 now and we have repared our relationship. Him and me get along well now. Before that we fought, argued, bickered and were bad brothers to eachother. We fought physically and verbaly. Im the younger brother and i was bitter towards my brothet for certain reasons. Hes older so naturally he thought he was better but no one was. I love this movie because i relate to Tommy and it projects my problems with my brother. Im glad its better.

God damnit I hate this movie for what it did, but UGGHHHHH it's so good! I had already heard this song before I watched the movie, but the timing of it couldn't have been worse for me. I was already in tears, and when it came on, I was like, "Oh, NOW the fucking song comes on!" and then i cried so much harder. I think that the only time I ever came close to crying this hard during a movie was when Dobby died. I was a blubbering idiot.

Max Venezian That's what you get for reading the comment section of a movie before you see it. Idiot.
@ZaddyGohan9 жыл бұрын
Max Venezian And actually, Kylo Ren is Ben Solo. Son of Han and Leia. Luke tried to rebuild the Jedi Order, starting with Ben. However, Ben betrayed Luke and turned to the Dark Side, which caused Luke to blame himself and become an Exile. Rey is the actual force sensitive person, not Finn. Rey ends up meeting up with Luke at the end to continue her training as a jedi (which is the only time we ever see Luke in the film.) Oh, and btw.... Kylo Ren (Ben Solo,) has daddy issues and kills Han.
