Musically speaking, national anthems don’t often get arrangements any grander than this. Forget about politics, monarchy vs republic etc and appreciate this amazing musical treat. Listen to the four part harmony, especially the tenors in the first verse, then hear the young boys of St Paul’s cathedral choir add the soaring descant to the second verse with the grand contribution of the 12 fanfare trumpets. This is a superb musical arrangement. Let’s appreciate the great work done by these choirs and musicians, and the late Sir David Willcocks.

Sir David Willcocks who did this version of the anthem said “This was the wedding at St Paul’s : we had the congregation of 3,500, the Choir of St Paul’s, the Choir of the Chapel Royal, the Bach Choir, the State Trumpeters, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Opera House Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. And the Organ of St Paul’s. We used them all.” I doubt there has been or ever will be a grander rendition of the National Anthem. It is gloriously majestic and totally over the top. It’s amazing! How on earth The Queen keeps her composure is astounding.

What a sweet version that is. Now we don't find that kinds of dedication in today's choirs. They sings but the sound doesn't touch our heart❤️.

This is THE BEST rendition of the nationals anthem ever! I love the royals, I love the monarchy and I love the Queen! I feel so proud to be British! I’ve listened to this at least 5 times a day in the past 4 months! I feel so proud to be British, and listening to this, just reinforces that. God Save The Queen! Long Live the Queen! 👑 🇬🇧 🏴 👑

This is absolutely phenomenal. 0:28-0:33 is possibly the most beautiful sound you could ever hear. “Majestic” is the only way to describe it, fitting for Her Majesty. As mentioned previously: it’s very, veryyyy “Disney”...which is a huge compliment. John Williams comes to mind too. Too bad they don’t quite know who composed this piece...it’s up there with the best of them

We no longer have our Gracious Queen having passed away. We here in UK are mourning our loss. She gave Her life To Her Country and it's people. We will never see her like again. Thank you Your Majesty for 70 years Reign you did so with the mantra never complain never explain. We will miss you terribly, but now you are with your husband, your mother, father and sister, and more importantly with your Maker. RIP.

This may be an old clip but Christ when we Brits do Pomp & Ceremony we do it bloody well. I was serving Her Majesty in the RAF at about this time and of course The Falklands caper was still to come but when you 'took the Queen's shilling', as we used to say, you stood taller, were that bit prouder and knew you were part of what this clip was all about. Being British. Now I really must stop peeling onions watching KZbin ...
