Yes, this glorious arrangement is by (the late) Sir David Willcocks. It's rarely performed because of the choral and instrumental forces required for its performance. And since it was written for a large Anglican Cathedral, no other venue would likely due it justice, other than maybe the Royal Albert Hall.

For the first time I found a clip of part of the church service honoring Queen Elizabeth on her 85th birthday - Hearing that trumpet salute sent chills up and down my spine and then to go immediately into God Save The Queen with the entire congregation singing brought tears to my eyes. We here in the United States don't honor our President (instead they try and tear him/her apart and boo him/her) and if our National Anthem is played 50-60% (probably higher in fact) don't even know the words and it brings tears to my eyes. We are a great nation but we don't honor our leader and we don't even know the words to our nation anthem - what a shame.

We need change but we do not need undoing. We cannot give up everything our fathers fought for. While the monarchy is a fantastic part of Britain, the real government (PM) Is not perfect. Boris Johnson was just as disrespected as Trump and Biden despite any of their views. It is all just a matter of how people have changed in the modern age. People do not accept leadership no matter how it is formed. This is a part of the world that is gone for the better or for the worse.

@DrunkLuna3 жыл бұрын
Rahul Karthikeyan I understand that, but in this context it is the second verse, as the actual second verse (“O Lord, our God, arise...”) was not sung. I wish they would play this arrangement at royal events these days, but I can understand why they don’t; it was arranged specifically for Charles and Diana’s wedding, so maybe the Queen doesn’t want to hear it as it brings up memories of a failed marriage that she made the mistake of forcing Charles to go into. She should have allowed him to marry Camilla in the first place. The only really good things to come from Charles and Diana’s marriage were Prince William and Prince Harry, though Harry is now nothing but a simp and a fool who is obviously being controlled by his awful wife. William will make a wonderful King one day with beautiful Catherine by his side, but Harry is now a prime example of what happens to men who marry controlling, narcissistic women.

When God save the king is playing, Woody.EXE cries every time because it’s about him and King Charles. They haven’t even met face to face yet but I’m getting them to meet one day. They will get on well
