Nice art works! I see that there are many similarities with Mongolian and Siberian spiritual shamanistic, cultures and traditions , some tents and logmills even have some similarities with Native Americans in Canada and Alaska. And these scenes are probably closer to what like ancient Central Asia and Mongolia were before Islam & Buddhism came.

I just subscribed to your channel, I love it! I'm curious about the Arangas. Was the burial of the shaman above ground permanently? Were they kept in a coffin of some kind? What happens nowadays when a person dies, are most people buried below ground or are there other methods of final disposition?

it depends ... According to believes if shaman was really powerful and strong his descendants must re-bury him each 100 years. Shaman's spirit will show them how and where. Most powerfull ones were re-buried up to 4 times. If descendants will forget or refuse to do that then shaman's spirit wont let them live calmly.

No, this picture is an illustration to a national epic "Nurgun Botur the Impetuous". That dinosaur like creature is a demon from underworld named Uot Uhutaaky (toughest guy in underworld) He stole beautiful girl Tuyaaryma Kuo - a bride of Urung Uolan - ordinary guy from upperworld who's brother accidentally is a toughest guy in upperworld and his name is Nurgun Botur. He is the horseman on that picture - a chaotic good hero who goes to underworld to safe a bride of his yonger brother. Their battle was so epic that if it were last little bit longer they would destroy the universe.

We believe in shamans, but I wouldn’t say we are shamanists, because I our main religion is called Sakha itegele and shamans are small part of it. Some Yakut are orthodox, but they are minority.
