Yes Newton needs some more experiences of being 'low boy on the totem pole'. Even Trudy knew how bratty he was being for a peg. The fact that Annie came in and said 'Kid you have a few lessons about MY tending of my family!' That was cute how she kept checking with you. She may appear to be stand-offish at times but that's the position schoolmarms need to be to keep order and protect everyone and break up fights with authority. Good on ya Lester for raising such a well balanced community of babies and watchers.

Yes I grew up using outhouse. Few years back I had to wait couple days for the landlord to get a new toilet put in.I tooka five gallon bucket ,put a garbage bag in it pours a little cat litter in and set the toilet seat on top. To or paper towels and no water.Tie the bag and put out in garbage

Oh my, PawPaw wasn’t the only one. My son got out the circular saw, 6 of us sat around and watched as he made 3 cuts in each paper towel. We laughed and felt pompous that we had overcome the county or world. By the time we ran out of paper towel wipes, we were able to buy toilet paper. Great minds think alike!!

For the first time I saw it was time for Pig Newton to go the pasture. I love watching these little ones known as Chip and Roxie. Annie is such a little momma, she takes care of her babies. As Pig Newton was yelling Annie was looking over the fence to see if everyone was ok, then she stopped Newton and Pebbles from fighting, then she told Newton to get out. I absolutely adore her. I agree with you about the pandemic and the toilet paper, it brought out the best and yes the worst in people.

jessica, I don't know if you are interested in healing naturally or not, but have you read Jordan Rubin's story about Crohn's? His book, "The Maker's Diet" was a best seller. Though Jordan's father was a medical doctor, he couldn't help his own son. He searched all over for someone. He finally found a doctor that WAS able to help his boy. It's a fascinating story.
