Something about Demi Humans I always found interesting and like to think about. The mini Demi humans, what I’d assume to be children, carry knifes that by Demi human standards are the cleanest and largest knives possible. Compared to chieftains this is notable, as chieftains carry knifes of the worst quality, bearing rust, cracks, stains, and poor size. It says something about Demi human culture that there’s an effort to prioritize the ability for their children to defend themselves, and less so the adults or elders. The adults work with less so the children have more of a fighting chance. There’s also some practicality in this in that if a child injures themselves with a dirty or old knife, they’ll likely contract a disease or infection and perish. While a clean knife wound will heal with less difficulty. As im rather sure that Demi humans may not necessarily be eyes on 24/7 kinds of parents.

This comment got me thinking: that the rusted knife the chieftains carry WERE their clean pristine knives as children. They keep the same knife they had as a child through adulthood, as they age, so does their blade

Thank you for this comment. It made me feel happy and also remember why examining small details in this and other souls titles is so enriching. It’s because you can be mostly sure that details like this aren’t an accident. It’s at least reasonable to imagine that the FS team put in thought about what weapons enemies carry and why. In fact I would argue this is a tried and true hallmark of FS storytelling. We may never know what and how and why the Demis are but there’s enough there to grab on to and find artistic meaning in it.

I love Demi-Humans, man. On my first playthrough, I fought the final boss with the Demi-Human ashes, and on my final attempt of the boss fight, the little Demi-Human with the knife literally stabbed Radagon in the foot, staggered him, and then I went up to Radagon and dealt a visceral attack as the killing blow. It was fucking HYPE. And then, during the fight with the Elden Beast, my Demi-Humans actually drew the EB's aggro as it was charging up Elden Stars, and sacrificed themselves by taking on the full force of that attack, so that I could finished the job and kill the Elden Beast. Kenneth mentions that he had made strides in forging a peace with the demi-humans, which would explain why there are dead ones at the fort. Godrick probably sent a group of his knights, empowered by his dealings with Mohg (as Mohg as been busy making deals of his own) to seige the fort. Kenneth mentions after the fort is reclaimed that he will have to redo his efforts on brokering peace with the demi humans again. Its probable that Kenneth had a partnership with the Queen, using them as his own servants and "knights," in exchange for a fortified living space for the Queen and the demi humans. When the fort was taken, the queen was slain, causing Kenneth, and possibly the war chiefs, to flee.

About the demi-humans going feral at night, there are two possible explanations: either (1) they go red-eyed because they're not exposed to the sun, or (2) they go red-eyed because they're being exposed to the stars/moon. imo I think the second option is way more likely, since when demi-humans are underground we can clearly see they AREN'T red-eyed, meaning that sunlight probably has nothing to do with it. As for why the presence of the moon/stars makes them feral, who knows. Maybe miyazaki gave them some unseen lore that makes them a wierd parody to Werewolves (it wouldn't be the first time we've seen that in a fromsoft game), or maybe their minds are being torn between two different forces at night, like Blaidd is when he goes red-eyed (like maybe the moon and the greater will are fighting to mind-control them or something). Like you said in the vid, we don't have any definite answers, but since we know from the gameplay trailer and promo art that both the moon and demi-humans will appear in the dlc, there's a good chance we get some.

I think that the dead Queen in Fort Haight is the reason for the Demi-human uprising. Kenneth Haight negotiated a treaty with the Demi-humans, where they would be safe but do a lot of menial labour. But the Blood Knight, like his boss Godrick, despises "lesser beings" so when the Demi-human Queen came around asking what happened to Kenneth the Knight just killed her and dumped her body in the lobby. Obviously, murdering a diplomat is a violation of Kenneth's treaty, if not an actual war crime, and the Demi-humans are rightly outraged and are fighting back.

Did you see Zullie the Witch's recent video about Hounds of Tindalos? Apparently they are beasts from the Call of Cthulu Mythos and they are supposed to live in the, "angles of time," and hunt down time travelers by emerging from anything with a sharp enough angle, emerging like a cloud of smoke. Well This was relevant to Dark Souls3 because the hound-like beast with it's rib-cage exposed is named Tindalosu. So it's apparently quite clearly a reference to the Lovecraftian hounds. Zullie went on to say that the outrider knights were also likely inspired by the same beasts. I think she didn't go far enough because the watchdog of the Old Gods in Bloodborne is also probably inspired by the same beasts. I also suspect that the Shadow-bound beasts and bloodhound knights might also be inspired from the same story. Particularly Maliketh. The Bloodhound knights also remind me a little of the Roman Festival Lupercalia, where naked men would run into the woods to pretend to be wolves. I bring this up because I love the connection you made between the demi humans and the bloodhound knights. I've always suspected that the demi humans were a quite literal example of a partial transition from beast to human. To me the Bloodhound knights always seemed to be an example of a similar transition but I never realized how similar they are. Blidd to seems to be just on the verge of become a human with his more human eyes and patches of fur that look like human skin. All very cool. =)

Been going full schizo lately with the double helix. Miquella’s braid Marika’s braid Radagon’s braid The twinserpent of Mesmer The gilded greatshield (The red tinge in the gold coat mirrors the PRIMORDIAL MATTER THAT BECAME THE ERDTREE) the crucible tree armor The fingerslayer blade The crossed tree tower shield The godslayer great sword Elden stars incantation The bloody helice The Haligtree symbol And yes. Even fucking string. Why is this helix everywhere and yet attributed to nothing specific? I think back to the two serpents in DS1. One bent on invoking an age of dark, the other an age of fire. The fingerslayer blade is made from Melina’s infant body. Deformed…small… dagger sized. Radagon’s spine is 1:1 size with the sacred relic sword. The sword of Milos is 1:1 with a hypothetical undersized giant spine. We know Melina’s purpose was long ago lost, that she was born at the foot of the Erdtree but is now burned and bodiless. Marika gave birth to a deformed baby Melina, burned her black, then the eternal cities took the body and turned it into the fingerslayer blade, which is also their high treason. The godskin nobles and apostles are blasphemously somehow connected to snakes as seen from their tails, obsession with skin (which snakes shed, eg the windmill village folk “worshipping” by peeling skin off of people. And they’re all born from the gloam-eyed queen directly. So when Marika pulls what looks like Grace out of a vajayjay in the cinematic trailer, they’re not gonna have it be an ACTUAL vajayjay - it’s the eye of a giant serpent. (See video : The Gloam Eyed Queen is a Snake | Elden Ring DLC Speculation). --- Different topic: Isn’t it weird too that there’s two part human civilizations in the game with social hierarchies and one is directly tied to sorcery and the other directly tied to warrior/faith? I’m of course talking about the Demi humans and the misbegotten. But like… But like if the misbegotten are tied to Radagon and red hair and war, it seems like the Demi humans are tied to magic and…Marika? But like…. Where did they come from? Did Marika/Radagon bang the crucible and create a whole spectrum of humanoid creatures as the offspring?

I think they’re somehow related to the martyrs crucified all over Limgrave and elsewhere, who are in turn linked to the Fell God. Firstly, the demihumans are afflicted with boiling blood at night (or even just out of the sun for an extended period; the purple eyes of certain queens I think reflects the intellect they possess alongside their animal rage). Similarly, the Martyrs come alive at night, screaming in agony while remaining unmoving charred corpses. The martyrs also often possess pointy ears, similar to the Demi humans. Their faces also look a bit odd. As for how they are tied to the Fell God, each and every single one is missing a foot. Specifically their right foot (our left), which is the same foot the fire giant...I’m not quite sure amputate is the right word, but it’s the same one he offers as tribute to awaken the Fell God residing within him. Now that I think about it, it’s also the same foot that we don’t see on the large Marika statues, as her right leg is posed behind her left, and remains concealed by her cloak. Not sure what exactly this means, but I don’t think it’s unintentional

The more I see the Demi human females, the more I think they're the result of what the golden order used them for. My theory is they used the females to syphon the death root after Godwyn fell. Their body and markings seem too similar to just write off as coincidence.

Wait, is this video not a joke? Like... How do you know the normal demi-humans aren't female? You expect them to wear a dress or something 😅

If they're all female how do they breed tho
@monsieurdorgat68647 ай бұрын
@@TheHonoredMadman I'm pretty sure any demi-human can be male or female lol And then they can breed the old fashioned way. Cabbage patches and shit 🤣 Maybe the DLC will come out and make a statement about this, but I'm pretty sure that would be Occam's Razor here.
