Daily reminder: Mohg didn't beat any allegations he was just so incompetent that after he abducted the boy, he allowed the Uno reverse.

Im not intending to mean this in any other way than (mostly) a compliment. You sound like if Rick, from Rick and morty, went into history rather than science, but because knowing everything about the Magna Carta and the war of 1812 doesn’t help you hop across space and time and visit other universes you just started learning history from all fictional universes. Same level of well informed apathy and clearly enjoying the humor where you can find it like with the orcs rubbing trini-mala-turd on their skin. It’s kind of refreshing and I do enjoy it.

It is a international tragedy that the original version of dark souls 2 is gone to the ether. It should be a holiday, a day of mourning.

I think you got it mixed up with Leda, her being violent is not the consequence of Miquella’s power, it is the consequence of the lack of his influence that made Leda violent again, Miquella is the best thing Lands Between Can ask for unfortunately we have no choice to align with him.

Not sure if I agree with the idea that rags the Giants in Dark Souls 1 being shared with the Giant Blacksmith is indicative that it isn't slave garb. The fact that they wear heavy chains and perform tasks in repetition heavily implies it, alongside the fact that they are referred to directly as "Giant Slaves" for their DS3 enemy name, and are still present in Irithyll/Anor Londo, and the Cathedral of the Deep, a location associated with Anor Londo as of the time of that game The Giant Blacksmith is likely also a slave, given he isn't provided the same level of treatment or extravagant garb as the regal Giant Sentinels, but is given greater treatment than the ones in Sen's Fortress due to his talents. His kinship with Gough still makes sense with this in mind too. No other characters besides Andre in DS3 speak fondly of him or even mention him. It's likely Gough treated him more fairly because of them both being Giants, and Andre held respect for him due to them both being craftsmen of the same trade. Most others probably didn't mind him much, or simply didn't care. Talent is talent however so he wasn't really mistreated like many other giants. Gough may very well be the one proper exception, since he's a renowned folk hero, but even then his relationships with some of his peers are up in the air.

I simply have to say this; the basilisks in DS1 absolutely do have lore. They’re lizard-like creatures that have the ability to turn you to crystal, and they’re in the sewers and the route to Ash Lake. The sewers house the gaping dragon, and Ash Lake houses the stone dragon. Death the Scaleless is a character associated with lizard creatures and crystals who has a vested interest in protecting dragons and a history of creating monsters, thus there are some crystal powered lizard monsters on the way to both Ancient Dragon kin in the game. The lore of DS1 is probably the tightest and most interconnected in the series, I loved the video but the descriptions of DS1 as “not really detailed” or “they’re figuring the lore out” kinda struck me

Bro what? The ancient dragon isn’t a real dragon it’s a giant transposed with a dragons scales by aldia. He’s even referred too as an abomination

Aldia is one of the best characters in Souls and it’s a tragedy we don’t hear more of him and his philosophy on 3; especially considering that game Ultimately has us cheat the cycle for good

Ansbach makes you wonder if Mohg was actually a decent dood before the enchantment, like how can someone that chill be with an evil lord? If thats true then Godfrey's boys score 3 for 3 in the good boy list! 😂

I think that taking the throne is more than just linking the fire; it represents the continuation of the light/dark cycle that Gwyn put the world into. Nashandra wanted to sit on that throne more than anything else, and something tells me she would definitely not have linked the fire, regardless of whether we do when we sit on it (which isn't even shown in that ending cutscene, it's left open to our own interpretation). Aldia's dialogue when you choose to leave the throne spells it out much more clearly, saying we are going "beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of dark." This clearly tells us that leaving the throne is the act of abandoning the entire cycle of light/dark and trying to find a third path beyond what was offered to us in DS1; a way to break the curse, not to surrender to it or to overcome it.

have you thought about doing videos on king's field and shadow tower games? King's Field IV and Shadow Tower Abyss are two you might like, if you like dark souls 2. There's also Eternal Ring for ps2. For those who like king's field, there is a king's field maker called sword of moonlight king's field making tool.

While Gwyn was the lord of light, nowhere in the games are the lord souls themselves given the light/death/life aspects. They’re pretty much a fan creation.
@ye762515 сағат бұрын
Right but thats the subtext we can get since the only other disparity we have heard that sprung from the first flame within the games is life and death so using that and putting several things together like nito's title as first of the dead death like aesthetics etc,etc its a safe assumption to do since tbh dark souls is like 99% subtext...

Fancy seeing you here @SmoughTown, I love your videos and Hawkshaw’s videos too. Dark Souls II is such a great and fun game, it doesn’t deserve all the hate that it gets, it deserves praise and it’s lore definitely deserves more praise, because it does play important roles within the entirety of the Dark Souls Timeline.
