I've seen lots of people being pissed at Smough for killing Orstein, someones were like really pissed from that. Just judging by how fucking brutal it looked, people usually describe Smough as a full of envy, pure evil irredeemable monster. No, I am not trying to say that Orstein was a hallucination. Even if he was real, there's still a valuable explanation. I can't help myself to see it anything but an act of mercy. When player breaks every fucking bone in kitty knight, he falls down, fuckin lies being at a damn edge of death, full of pain, so fatty needed to kill his bro as fast as possible to make his death less painful. Like bro tell me how else he supposed to kill Orstein with such a giant-ass golden hell of a brick on stick, without looking not brutal and violent, of course it will look much less kind and graceful than Orstein's version. Smough killing Orstein wasn't even violent, it was kinda nice, because he took Orsteins power and soul so the player wont get it. (I feel like I need to mention such a game as Mouthwashing, quite popular game nowadays. I didn't expect much from that game when it started, and I was hella shocked by Swansea killing Daisuke, not because of the murder itself but because of how much it reminded me of Smough. If you played that game, you're brobably getting what am I trying to say about what Smough actually did to his friend)

The idea of Lampreys being transformative parasites makes me think of DnD's Illithids: they're also born from parasites, specifically tadpoles that latch onto a person's brain and slowly devour and replace it. As it grows, the body itself mutates and then you have a new Illithid.

I think I tried to play Oblivion one a year for the last three years, but it's aged so much it's hard to not get bored, or just break the game completely with all the known glitches and exploits at this point. On paper, I definitely like Oblivion more, but I can play Skyrim more before I get sick of it. (I got the free Legendary version on my PS4, but it's almost unplayable with all the extra stuff they force on you from the start, and my older Xbox 360 version actually runs better for the most part smh. So I guess I can't play Skyrim anymore either because it's aged so poorly)

“Cursed to never bloom” I think that’s assuming you took Millicents side and returned a golden needle to Malenia. The needle would leave her locked in her chrysalis due to it cutting off the Rot God from fueling her final bloom, leaving her stuck to the same fate as her brother which is kind of poetic. Both of them fighting for one another, ultimately locked away right before ascending. That is before the Erd Tree crap show we got for a plot. Kind of pretending it’s not canon right now. That being said, when you beat Malenia, it explains why none of the Scarlet Valkyries have emerged. - No “God Slain” when winning - Aeonian Spell future tense and “true” goddess implication - No Valkeries bloom - Zero lore regarding her second bloom even though it’s 90% of what Malenia’s story revolves around It’s one thing to consider one or two points as oversight by FS. There is too much amiss to consider all of these as coincidence’s though.

I’m fairly certain Metyr herself births the creepers, as we see in her fight. That’s why Ymir’s child died - Ymir wasn’t yet the Mother of Fingers. Once he is and fights you, he spawns stable finger creepers like Metyr could.

The lampreys summoned after the binding spell arent from nowhere, they are lampreys from within the level and they have a full on animation where they jump in a portal above them before dropping down on you.... Hmmm makes you wonder whether the big one makes the portal or themselves, and also whether that portal is similar to a microcosm

The lamperys crawl on their bellies like the biblical serpent was cursed to do for temping Eve to eat of the Tree of Knowledge. Metyr most likely represents the concept of the temping serpent, and the Lamperys are like a Gnostic parasite. The Elden Beast at first probably looked like a lampery but got engorged by feasting on souls being funneled through the Erdtree

These lamprey guys looks more akin to snakes than any finger related creature in game , they even shed their skin like snakes an move like snakes . The only difference being that they have arms aand legs...

Interesting parallels between lamprey and godwyn (aquatic body features; connection to death blight, assuming the worm face connection, etc)

I dont think its a coincedence that theres multiple types of parasites in elden ring. The flame of frenzy is based off of river blindness which are worms in the eyes.

Okay, now you've got me imagining the Finger Readers' job being to decipher the Reaper-like BWAAAAHs of the Two Fingers.

I always thought the Fingers were essentially a sign of what would be something like a "grand Architect" or "Demiurge". Fingers to hold and sculpt the reality and Eyes to observe it's development. The problem is I can't decide if that Grand Architect threw away or discarded the reality.

Those two "eggs" from which the stone fingers grow from at the ruins, look a lot like the egg from which Marika extracts the golden threads from. They are stone, but also the two fingers turn to wood when dead. Very interesting that there are two eggs for each finger

I always wondered if the Lamprey were tied to the Ulcerated Tree Spirits. They could be a premature form of them, or maybe even the original guardians of Erdtrees. The fin-like tail makes me think of the Elden Beast.

I think the wormfaces are the tree guardians who became infected with death blight defending a minor erdtree that was connected to the roots of Godwyn. Since they weren't dead when they came into contact they're not technically "those who live in death," but a horrifying dead-life

Did you notice the lamprey is in the middle of the Brass Shield in a world-like circle? With depicitons of fingers breaking through the flesh of the world at the top in a row? And the three fingers on the top corners (mirrored with its thumb) and the two fingers at the bottom corner (mirrored but with hair on the back of them). Maybe the lamprey was the original design of Metyr in earlier drafts and they changed it and repurposed its early model for a normal enemy?
