The Nature of God - WEEK 2 - God is Eternal

One definition of the word “nature” is “the basic or inherent features of something, especially when seen as characteristic of it” (Oxford Languages Dictionary). Perhaps one of the best ways we can get a better understanding of ourselves (or, better yet, of what we are intended to be) is to seek to better understand the Creator of all things (John 1:1-3). The Holy Bible teaches us that we were made in the image of the LORD our God (Genesis 1:26-27) and that a healthy respect for God is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom (Proverbs 9:10-12). Furthermore, God desires that we seek the LORD in faith who will in turn grant us benefits for the effort (Acts 17:24-31; Hebrews 11:6). Therefore, we shall embark in this study to develop a better understanding and appreciation for God by exploring the LORD’s nature as illustrated by Scripture and the holy texts contained in the Holy Bible as directed by the Holy Spirit. May we do so prayerfully in faith in Christ so that we may obtain the LORD’s approval (2 Timothy 2:15).
