I think the comedy in this video has landed really well, much like that bomb, by not lingering on jokes for so long as before, the goring joke was really quick and i think that made it alot more funny then lingering on it for too long like some older videos.

You joke, but when i grew up in the late 1980s West Germany, digging actual "Child-sized" Trenches was common, which COINCIDENTALLY was a Fun Activity our Grandparents (WW2 Veterans) taught us. In hindsight i'm happy they told us to do that, helped me immensely when i joined the Bundeswehr at Age 18 but it also made us be quite fit and manage to spend Weeks doing the same Thing instead of doing something dangerous. The only Person made at it was my WW1 Great Grandpa who wanted to use those Plots of Land for Potatoes haha Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps

Why does she know English? That’s quite uncommon as far as I know…
@sebastianriemer1777
@sebastianriemer1777 3 ай бұрын
Depends about her background. 3 of my 4 grandparents spoke English. Grandma 1 because she was raised in a protestant noble family. Grandma 2 because she went to a upper class girls school. Grandpa 1 because he was a university graduate as a railroad engineer. Grandpa 2 was a steel worker and later became a typesetter. He could only speak German. But that's pretty uncommon for the time. My home village has a street named after its doctor at the time. He was the only English speaker in that area and saved the village because he walked towards the approaching English units to inform them where the German soldiers were hiding. Thanks to him only a few houses were destroyed. The Brits used them to fill a river to cross it. The villages and cities around us were pretty much flattened.

But when you think about it, someone, somewhere in Germany was moving house in a bombed city during the war. The Suburban Sales corps must have had their work cut out for them, especially getting insurance. 'For sale: 2 and 1/4 bedroom house, 1 bath, 14 skylights, variable light show every evening. Good proximity to air raid shelters and a freshly tilled garden by volunteer RAF aeroplanes. Room to rebuild a dining room. No lowball offers, ich weiß what ich habe.'

I have to wonder what real estate agencies in 1944/1945 looked like along the Western front as the lines moved back and forth. Was it different agencies, or was it the same agent wearing different outfits depending on the customer in question?

Ok, I wouldn't expect commedians to know the minutiae of wwii German uniforms, but the makes of this video should have invested two minutes of research here. The collar flashes are Panzer flashes, part of the regular Wehrmacht armoured troops. These are not SS insignia. Royal Army used skull and crossbone insignia, the Royal Lancers still feature them on their website. The EKII ribbon is not worn in the breastpocket button hole, but in the second button of the tunic. If you really wanted to make him sinister, if over the top, one collar flash should have been the double sigrune. Another way would have been to put him into brown stormtrooper uniform... Sigh...
