This is actually very accurate. By Strasbourg the German morale was low. The anti tank weapons of infantry at the time had certain limitations that required high morale troops.

Funny thing is I can only recall a single story involving a German tank in 1945. During the Battle of Berlin a Panther met an ISU-152 and according to the guy who had called in the ISU the shot blew the Panther's turret off and the headless chassis rolled back something like 30 feet.

I think 1944 is correct. Liberation of Strasbourg happened in November 1944, and at 11:56 they reference that Dunkerque was four years ago, which would also place this in 1944.
