Dillion Brooks...This disrespectful…Loud-mouthed…Choke artist…
Has done a pretty poor job endearing himself to us, the NBA fans over the years.
And somehow these antics of his earned him an 80 million dollar contract?!
What do the Houston Rockets see in Dillon Brooks that I’m missing?
Well, I did some research and I think Dillon Brooks just may be the most misunderstood player in the league. So here are my main reasons why...
You’re probably wrong about Dillon Brooks.
00:00 - Intro
00:41 - "Elite" On-Ball Defense
02:24 - Offensive Struggles
03:46 - Dillon's Unique Gift
04:45 - The "Villain"
05:15 - Draymond Green Wannabe
06:27 - Dillon Brooks's Ceiling
07:42 - His "Dance" Moves

I agree. I hated Dillon Brooks last year with his over the top antics and ridiculous trash talking. I was wishing he would go away and play in Europe. He was a good defender but not the total package. This year I've seen him step up his offense and his defense is rock solid 90% of the time. But what I like most is he is letting his game speak for itself and people are taking notice. Of course there will always be the verbal back and forth on and off the court but Dillon is appearing more disciplined. To be honest, even though I'm not Technically a rockets fan. I have to watch just to see if the changes are going to be long term. Not to mention that being from Wichita Kansas I'm a Fred VanVleet fan.

Villain on a good team is almost a key piece. When teams are losing, a villain might appear to be a distraction much like Draymond right now. However, if you are on a good path, a villain is such a godsend. They provide the grit that the squeaky clean superstar might not stoop low enough to. That being said, the Grizzly moving on from Dillon was the right move, their only problem is, they don’t know what to do without Ja. Dillon being there or not might not matter.

Brooks is the defensive version of Iverson, he's Draymond Green 2.0 - He's loud, brash and LOVES to talk sh1t but the man CAN back it up if he chooses to do so. Houston has a gem there if they can counterbalance his lack of offense. IMO, he'd be better in Dallas with Doncic and Irving. However, if Houston is looking to anchor their new identity in defense and range, Brooks might be their Goon (hockey fans know).

Maybe on the NBA. In a european league he would get so many technicals it wouldn't be worth
