What electric sound? You probably are mistaking the high piano notes for an electric sound. They do use synths in studio recordings though. And there are no other versions because it is improvised. They are hit and miss, which is what makes it so special when they hit it. They have the balls to take risks but this rates as one of their misses IMO (the textures are not unpleasant but cannot compare to Sigur Ros who specialise in textures).
