The need of reforestation

Dutch national television 'EenVandaag' (One Today) publishes an interview with Pieter Hoff. His message is that we need to reforest all degraded areas in the world. Trees can produce food, create employment, restore degraded soil, restore water tables and help combat climate change.

What happen when it grows more than the recipient and need more water to continue growing?

There must be a reachable water table, but that can be assumed if there is surrounding plants.

There are 3 main parts in the "Groasis" that aid nature and greatly increase the tree/bush survival rate. 1. The water reservoir. 2. The slow release of water, as needed, by the wick. 3. A shield that prevents predation, evaporation, and harmful rays. Combined, these innovations allow plants to grow anywhere their roots can reach the water table. Buying saplings is not necessary, in fact, not recommended do to the harm done to their roots starting out in small pots. Note: Research will teach you how to make your own "plant womb". Suggestion: Use a biodegradable (paper product?) container home built that lasts 1-3 years, recharge with water as needed, and save work/time/money.

I'm just curious, are you going back and take back again once the small tree reached to a certain growth . Or adding a more accurate design like we played logo blocks but opening from inside ,the tree that growing day by day would push out slowly until it became two sections. exactly with two sections from the start rather you just need to connect them like logo blocks . I'm just curious. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi S S., Since the Waterboxx® is at least 10x reusable, you'd have to devide that number by 10 to have the price for one time usage. Our biodegradable Growboxx® comes at a lower price, but is ofcourse not reusable. I can imagine that the price might be a blocker. Then again it's value for money and you get what you pay for. We do everything to keep the costs as low as possible and ofcourse there is discounts for ordering large(r) amounts. We try to make the technique and products available for as many as possible. ^MK

Hi Electronic. The Waterboxx is reusable and does not decompost. However our Growboxx is biodegradable. Depending on planting strategy, type of trees, budget and quite a few other variables either one should be able to fit ones needs. ^MK

@@Groasis Was wondering just that, if the waterboxx is reusable, thanks for clarification. I understand you lift the whole box up after a few years so you take it over the tree, as in, it doesn't clip-close from one end so as to be able to open the box in the middle to strap it around the tree. I think I watched some instructional videos and didn't really get a clear picture on whether you could reuse it or not, so that could be made clearer as a selling point imho.

"The Groasis Waterboxx is actually very cheap. About 8 times cheaper than irrigation and you also have no energy costs, no maintenance costs, you use no scarсe groundwater and once your tree grows, after one year, you use the box for the next tree. I am already doing trials in Africa with the Government of Kenya, of Morocco, soon in Tanzania and Ethiopia, and it is a matter of time before it is used on a larger scale. " (Pieter Hoff wrote this as a reply to one of the comments regarding the costs). I will add: Also, cost per tree goes down when you buy more units. Of course, you can buy just a few for your backyard, but to make a difference more units matter. And cost per tree falls down to 0.44 euro cents for 432,000 units, reusable for up to 20 trees.
