This is exactly how I feel rn about the community, because Brenda's daybreak team has received such a negative rep, they feel they should be much more inclined to listen to the community and its exactly as you word it, the community definitely has a leash on the developers.

The new players are also usually the ones that act like this, which is the reason for the Callum and Anais buffs, most people just didn’t know how to play Callum at all, and that’s why he got all of these buffs. For Anais, it’s because most killers can’t use their brain, if you see Anais on a gen, don’t kick it unless necessary..? (like if it’s 99%) And if the Anais Controls other people’s gens, then simply wait for 10 seconds after kicking? Imo she’s just fine, people just don’t know how to counter her, and for Void, she really did need a buff Imo, but how dare the community whine for her to recieve a nerf .2 seconds after the buff?? Like hello?!? Litterally just avoid infected vaults and if your gen’s infected, just tap it to save it and hide somewhere safe? T.L.D.R The community most of the time has no skill, whine about a certain character either making them too good or giving/ having them recieve unnecessary buffs, or become way too strong and then whine about it.

I have quit playing daybreak due to the fact I've gotten bored of either raging hard or yawning alot due to how easy a round was, but i decided to watch this video to see how much Daybreak has degraded Like, i know I'm not the one to talk since I've been crying to nerf host like a little bitch every time i encounter her, but these people begging for buffs on certain characters that were already decent enough like Callum and Void is enough evidence on why i would not be playing daybreak again, like, why not ask for Serena's buff who's only a weaker Yeona and only fully counters ghost? What about Jonas who is a weaker and non support Chaoxing? I don't understand the community tbh

Goes to show how much of a horrible job the devs do at balancing 💀 Void 100% needed a buff imo but these changes were a bit too excessive. "Lemme just make her vault faster than idol"; idol should literally have higher stamina irl so i dont get why a literal parasite infected woman vaults faster than someone whose whole career is based around being an idol. Cant wait for everyone to play callum and still complain that he or other survivors need buffs😭

Brenda has given up on the game, I'm not in the Discord server anymore, but I remember reading that she was talking about stopping updates after the next chapter is released. It looks like she'll just be doing whatever the community is begging for until she stops the updates completely. I think one of the main issues relating to Daybreak is that the majority of the community and player base are kids, and most kids who play games all day are brats. You won't get valid and reasonable suggestions for a character buff or nerf and you certainly won't see any civil debates or discussions about the game without somebody creating a problem.

this may be a late reply, brenda did state that she will stop updating the game but she'll stop once she finishes the roadmap, we didnt even get to the starcaller chapter release yet but the planned of leaving development is when the chapter for kiara's continous story chapter comes out

1:04 I see it as less weak-willed and instead more of a "Be careful what you wish for" situation. Like sorta getting the community to shut up since even they do start winning with voidskulk who has become completely OP, then others will hop on the bandwagon of using her and soon survivors can't even win. So then people will be asking for her to get nerfed and balance would be restored. Or at least, that's what I think Brenda's hoping to happen. I think Void getting this scale of a buff wasn't needed, just a lil something to help her get kills, like only a lunge buff. (I say this as someone who tried her 3 times before the buff and lost each time. Might be a skill issue thing though.) I think the only Callum buff that was needed was the DC one where you can reselect a teammate if they ever DC at any point in time because I can see that as frustrating if you play him. The Iris buff is arguable. I see a lot of newbies play as her because she's superficially easy to play as (since her ability is just dropping a pot) but not understanding that her strong perk makes her a target and I do think Iris should be a character that's used by mainly high-skilled players and I think the buffed composure and stealth makes it easier for less skilled players to be Iris. I don't mind any of the other changes.

In all fairness with regards to Callum he terribly needed those minor buffs, I still think he needs buffs as of now but the only buff I’d like is that chase aura and for him to repick his teammate when they die (instead of solely being able to when they dc) since he can’t even do gens decently (3 repair) and he’s loud by default, plus that 25 stamina is locked behind an 80 second cd and you can’t even use it while on a gen for some reason, I do think what’s even worse is he truly is punished for picking the wrong teammate because if they die early, have fun having a skeleton of a perk, and after all these killer buffs/loop nerfs then surely a buff for callum is justifiable to an extent

I think Callum is good as of right now. 1 - Callum can support good loopers and turn them into monsters. If you're picking a terrible teammate, then I don't know what you're doing. That's on you man. 2: Imagine giving an already powerhouse looping character Yara's ability. It's at 80 CD for a reason (10 seconds longer than Yara's from my memory). It's like giving a character another good perk to have. Slap his ability onto a good looping Yara and see how fun it is to go up against. 2: I do agree his stats are terrible. That repair is meddling, and his composure makes him easier to find. However, it's somewhat balanced out by his supportive capabilities + looping abilities. It's reasonable to make his composure low for him to be more targettable to killers, as they usually want to get rid of supports like Callum. Heck, even if the killer finds him, he has the looping abilities to hold up chase, as stamina is the most important factor in looping. It's why some Emery mains can loop max stacks showstopper to begin with.

Honestly he has well more downsides than benefits to the point he’s practically an extra gen on the team, also the powerhouse argument has never made sense to me because you would arguably buff a genrusher to give them better chances of survival (especially with all these map changes encouraging further and longer transitions which really aren’t easy to do as someone with low stamina even if you managed it well) but don’t you find it unfair he’s literally punished for losing his teammate? Absolutely no one is punished as badly as he is, take crystal as an example, sure she’s got a different role/class but I’m using her as an example because she also buffs someone else + has a similar system to do so, crystal regains her quartz back when the partner dies and with a very low cool-down too (5 seconds)yet she’s overall more of a threat with the fact she can do gens in the background (a main aspect of the game) as well as providing coverage for someone else, crystal actually has a back passage should she have made a mistake of picking a bad teammate unlike callum which is pretty unfair considering how his role is linked to one of the most important aspects of the game, looping, yet he is unable to effectively do that, considering the 25 stamina every 80 seconds, my main issue is it doesn’t even tell his teammate he gave them stamina, nor can he truly tell if they’re in chase till that aura buff comes along but my main concern is how he can’t even use his ability while sat on a generator so you have to do the annoying process of getting off then back on which is a small time waster, I’d like to see him get a slightly lower cool-down (75 seconds) as well as a qol change that lets him use his ability while on a gen to make life easier, sorry for flooding you with this I do apologise 😭😓(also you are genuinely screwed as Callum if your teammate dies early game don’t you think)

I'm gonna confess a little bit of something, I think my poll that asked the community what kind of buffs they would like to see the Voidskulk have pressured the developers... I only wanted to see what the community was interested in seeing for the Voidskulk, not pressure the developers into granting her a powerful buff. Though I am appreciative and happy for Tara's major buff, I fear that it can be too OP. A mobility killer decent in chase and genlock would be an overkill mix.

DB player here. Honestly, these are amazing points. I saw someone mention that these are the new players complaining, and GOD do I understand them. I've seen people complain in chat how horrible some survivors were, and how they should buff, but dude. Just use a different survivor, The survivors are meant to be played differently, and if your looper can't genrush, just switch.

I love the game, but the community can’t decide what’s right for balancing in this game, so the game feels ever so clunky and awkward. Just when I get comfortable with playing a new character they end up getting nerfed heavily or over-buffed and it’s suddenly awkward learning all over again. And more characters end up in balancing discourse which makes some people very salty or toxic about you playing certain characters. It’s a tiring never ending cycle. I think this is a common trend in Asymmetric Multiplayer Horror games, but it leaves me feeling tired about it.

I agree with your opinion on the community, but this is part of my opinion on balance: There is a range at which a character can be considered balance, which means sometimes a buff is fine on an already balanced character because it's still fair, but a lot of people end up with the mindset of "They were fine, and now they getting buffed? Omg unfair!" or "Yay, they got buffed, now they're gonna be even better" depending on whether they like the character or not. Lemme try give an example: Saadiya's block time was reduced from 10 seconds to 8. Some people said it's too big of a nerf, because it's had a 20% reduction, but an 8 second vault block is still really good. This probably isn't the best example, but I hope my point made sense. TLDR: I definitely think balancing can be a bit whack, and they shouldn't purely go off community, but I think people's views on certain buffs/nerfs are too extreme, because they only focus on the fact that something was changed, and not how good they still are as a character.

The only buff void needed was quicker teleport time. She’s in agility category, I find her passive pretty strong and she’s not meant to be hugely great chasing!! Sure she wasn’t the best but so many times I’ve been easily genlocked by an experienced voidskulk even against a good team.

0:33 To be honest, Voidskulk needed the buffs and, not to mention, they were like *10 months* late (that's like last years July). I don't blame the community at all for the constant begging, because her last buffs were so underwhelming it hurt. The last serious buff was around July. This (0:23) buff just made her smoother to play. Nothing more. 2:03-2:09 This "buff" was needed. 2:43, the glazing needs to stop, seriously. He was badly punished for his choosen teammate leaving making him more or less useless, bactically making him remain perkless. That "buff", again, prevents him from being punished on *any* point of the game. It was pretty unfair. So, most of these changes were absolutely needed. Anyways, the flat out insults thrown at both the community and the devs were unnecessary. We know brenda barely plays her own game and "balances" it through wins. She has confirmed that too. Strange how you made this video only when buffs of everyone but your mains are announced. You never said anything about Empress or Possessed being in the trenches. Or Slasher having absolute braindead gameplay, like dude gets carried by that lunge if the player sucks at sniping. Your comments are mostly just you being whiney as hell over stuff that should've been there on release of the characters. I do have some slight agreement with your Anais temper tantrum, but then again her ability wasn't very much around early game. 3:20 Here's an example of a bad take. The dev believing their character is balanced doesn't mean they actually are. That's like defending YanDev on his damn game. So, after watching the video, I've got some things to say; Your wording choices for this video are not very.....good. You basically came across as a grown man having a temper tantrum. I know the points you were making were about how the community pushes and complains a lot for these buffs/nerfs, but you missed some important context. 1: Voidskulk hasn't had a serious buff in about a YEAR. Her last serious buff, in my opinion, was when they buffed her infection duration to 60 seconds, and also expanded her TP radius. In the many people's opinions that you have displayed in this video, she was considered hot garbage. I have a bit of a bias because I do think she was pretty bad before some of her major buffs. Areas she lacked in was her lunge and gen control power. And I'm not just talking out of my a**, because I've seen Voidskulks struggle in game for a LONGGG time with these things. You can disagree, and that is fine. But the way you went about it was just plain embarrassing. You never explained why the Void buffs angered you, instead deciding to insult the people who campaigned for them and also insult Brenda multiple times. This does NOT help your argument at all. It makes you seem like a vainful, sad guy who can't handle a weak character being buffed in a video game. If you wanted to actually make good points in this video, you would've explained your reasoning for why you feel these suggested buffs went too far and why they're so "HORRIBLE". Unfortunately, you did not do that, so your argument came off as weak and very biased. I suggest you try to articulate your feelings better and not try to be so rude to people online. They enjoy the game and just want to see it become better, and I know you probably do too, and just insulting everybody else because you do not like a balance change just looks bad. Literal shit balancer no offense to Brenda but they really need a very very reasonable balancer for the whole game, which is the main reason why the game is no longer gonna continue with updates and shit.
