I spent my Army training in the Sde Boker base in the Negev. As a Mexican, and it being my first time in Israel, i had seen wonderful places, but the Negev takes the prize! How could I have imagined that a desert could be so full of life? There is a lot of potencial there. Anyways, you can't see how amazing it is in a video, you NEED to be there!! :D

*Headed for Exile?* It has been more than two months since the general election in Israel took place. Our attitude has always been totalitarian: Either our rivals accept that we are right and relinquish all their claims, or we fight them to the death. Politicians who expressed one opinion only a few years ago, now express the complete opposite opinion only because their position has changed from being in the government to being in the opposition, or the other way around. Every issue-from Israel’s judicial system through its economy to its security and defense-is subject to political position. Considerations of the best interest of the country simply do not exist anymore. Even if the country falls to pieces, “leaders” will not give up until they are king of the hill, even if the hill is a heap of smoldering ashes. When the only considerations are what serves my ego, of course it is impossible to let anyone rule but me. If I am not the prime minister, I will interrupt and interfere in any way I can. Even though our nation conceived the ideas of love of others, charity, and mutual responsibility, we have always shunned these notions. Instead, we agreed to love only those who thought like we did and lived like we did. We have set an example of both mercy and cruelty, but in our annals, the latter has always ultimately won. King Solomon said, “Hate stirs up strife, and love will cover all crimes” (Prov. 10:12). We are great at carrying out the first part of the verse, but we are awful at following its latter part. We cannot hope to agree with one another; this will never happen. Our only hope is to learn that despite our disagreements, we are one nation. Unless we understand that just as brothers do not murder one another simply because they disagree, neither must we. Otherwise, we are headed for death and exile.

The video was informative and enjoyable except when you used those awful phlegmy sounding ”kh” sounds. Softer ”ch” or ”h” sounds are much easier on the ears.and MANY people will thank you if you switch them out. Hebrew uses those awful ”kh” sounds a lot. What were people thinking when they resurrected Hebrew into modern Hebrew? The sound makes peoples’ ears bleed. Using ”h” and ”ch” sounds is EASY! Try it!

وَجَاء مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ And there came a man running from the farthest part of the town. اتَّبِعُوا مَن لاَّ يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْراً وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ Obey those who ask no wages of you وَمَا لِي لاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ "It would not be reasonable in me if I did not serve Him Who created me, and to Whom ye shall (all) be brought back. أَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَن بِضُرٍّ لاَّ تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يُنقِذُون ِ"Shall I take (other) gods besides Him? If (Allah) Most Gracious should intend some adversity for me, of no use whatever will be their intercession for me, nor can they deliver me. إِنِّي إِذاً لَّفِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ "I would indeed, if I were to do so, be in manifest Error. إِنِّي آمَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ "For me, I have faith in the Lord of you (all): listen, then, to me!" قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!- بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ "For that my Lord has granted me Forgiveness and has enrolled me among those held in honour!" Quran.
