📌 It is unlikely that the eggs will hatch at this point. We have no way of knowing why. It could be environmental, such as temperatures, humidity percentages, oxygen levels at high altitude, etc. It could be biological with something just being off at the time the eggs were created. It is very unlikely that either Jackie or Shadow are infertile since they have already had 2 sets of chicks together - in 2019 and 2022.
📌 A replacement (second) clutch may be common if the first one was lost very early on (within 1-2 weeks) and uncommon otherwise. It is unlikely there will be another clutch this season. Jackie is still incubating the current clutch.

This is a live bald eagle's nest. The nest is built 145ft up in a Jeffrey Pine tree ~7100ft ASL, one of the highest elevation Bald Eagle nests in the US! It is measured ~5 1/2’ wide and 6’ deep bit.ly/3PoSmP6

Big Bear Lake is ~7 miles long, ~1/2 mile wide, and sits at 6750 ft. ASL. The lake forms thin layers of ice, but never freezes completely, making it a favorite for wintering eagles & many birds. The lake is stocked a couple of times a year.

I have been watching these 2 awesome eagles for 4 Months. Followed the chats. Perching. I have fallen completely in love with them. Still, until recently, they have been hopeful. I am saddened to have watched the withdrawal process but these two have such a bond, dedication, and strength that is undeniable. Much love to you Jackie and Shadow..You are an awesome pair! You do realize that doing a search on KZbin for live eagle cams you will find over a dozen other nests across the country with eaglets ranging from 115 days old all the way down to eaglets that are only a week old.
