Dragon strike the board game does include a dragon. In fact, it s a major component of the game. All missions have a dragon strike countdown which is effectively your turn limit. Once it expires, the “dragon strikes” and the dungeon master commands the dragon miniature. Here the heroes can make futile… final last stand against the dragon.

Sometimes I really wonder who decides which games are going to get re-releases and sequels 20 years later.

I expect sometimes it's just some random guy who grew up with an equally random game 20 years earlier, then in adulthood achieved a position in some company that allowed him to propose the re-release or sequel. Or a similar situation, but with multiple people in the same company who all happen to share nostalgic memories of some random game, and want to recapture that.

Man do I remember what a double edge sword Summer used to be. You would be excited that there was no school and you could stay up late every single night playing video games. If only there was something new to play. It was always hard as a kid because you knew the drought was coming but you really couldn't do anything about it. Oh but I vowed to change that when I became an adult... Starting from the time I hit 18 years old I began preparing for those boring Summers. I would buy games I thought were neat but not must haves during the regular year. So when Summer hit I was absolutely flush with games to play. Since I play everything across all platforms, genres, and generations of gaming this means I'm never without something cool to play. I still to this day prepare for slow Summers and while game droughts tapered off in 2008'ish...with the advent of the 9th generation they are back. This year we just started seeing great games rollout in the Summer. Currently, I am playing Final Fantasy XVI on the PS5 and it is the best FF game ever created.

That Race Days 2 in 1 Game is not bad at all. Dirty Racing has classic Gremlin Music and gameplay is quite fun. The Jeep game may not be great, but it is solid. I have seen worse.

Man, the Gameboy being one of the most sold system ever, it s clear that all the negatives and problems we are seeing today were clearly not seen as problem back in the day. I am still playing my unlit gameboy no problem. People are hypocrites.

Pretty much everybody missed out on the Neo Geo. I had heard the name Neo Geo on the playground back in the day, but never saw, nor heard of it anywhere else until some video on Cinemassacre brought it up.

Neo Geo was like the CDR with its high price points, except that was because it was releasing near perfect arcade ports as opposed to experimental polygon and unproven FMV games. The price of admission for NeoGeo was extremely high so lots of people never got into it unfortunately

@@CeruleanChurch I imagine a lot of parents saw the price when their kids asked for it, and decided it was just cheaper to go to the arcade every now and then, since you were getting the same thing anyway. Making the "arcade perfect" argument kind of fall flat on its back. To parents, it was probably more like, "You can either spend a bunch of money to get an arcade experience at home, or you can spend money to get a console that has games you don't find at the arcade for cheaper, and in turn also just go to the arcade every now and then instead for also cheaper."

@@gurvmlk Oh absolutely. I always considered the Neo Geo an enthusiasts console. If you had it, you bought it and you knew good and well why you bought it and were willing to fork over the money for the high priced games

@@CeruleanChurch One shame about that is it would've probably sold a lot better if gaming back then was in the state it is nowadays. Not because of retro gaming enthusiasts, or anything like that. I mean that nowadays you have a lot more gamers who also have jobs, and can go out and buy the thing for themselves if they want it. Whereas back in the 90s, most gamers were young children who needed depend on their parents, or some measly allowance to purchase such things. You didn't really have a whole lot of adult gamers, and most adults who did play video games only did so to spend time with their kids. So the Neo Geo just didn't have an audience that could also afford to buy it, and the age group that could afford to buy it wouldn't consist prominently of gamers for another decade or two.
