The Watcher calls it a punishment when he speaks of his kind being 'encrusted' by our world. However, it might not have been a punishment but rather protection for us. Since the angels were beings of light their mere presence on the Earth was catastrophic. In their natural forms they would have seared and burned everything around them. Encasing them in stone form was the only means of preventing them from inadvertently obliterating the world they had come to save.

Good theory, but the whole premise of the Watchers even being turned to stone/Nephilim is incorrect. The Watchers were sons of God told by God to watch over humans, but commited the sin of mating with human women and having sons which were the Nephilim. Guys, guys, it's a movie that has elements that are based on Apocrypha. Besides, in the old Enochian texts, The Watchers weren't nearly as sympathetic. In the old story, the Nephilim, that is, the hybrids they created were abominations. Said to be giants, they ate all the food until there was nothing left. Then they started eating people and animals and eventually each other. They were violent, bloodthirsty monsters. The Watchers were said to be Fallen Angels that lusted after mortal women. What they did was teach humans about weaponry, cosmetics and magic, which caused violence, vanity and heresy, which is why God had forbidden Mankind from learning it. According to Enoch and Jubilees, because of this terrible state of the world, and because Noah and his family were untouched by the Watchers' influence, God sent the Flood. The Watchers didn't "ascend" but were imprisoned in the Earth until Judgment Day, after which they will be cast into Hell. Azazel, one of the leaders of the Watchers, is said to have been bound in chains and thrown into a pit in the desert.

+Timothy Washington Jr No, these aren't demons. Demons belong to the 1/3 of God's angels who sided with Satan and were cast down to Earth before or while Adam and Eve were in the Garden. These "Watchers" (in the movie) clearly abandoned their posts without God's permission AFTER the Fall of Man, and were cursed. So they rebelled, but they didn't side with Satan either. And they were able to redeem themselves - Satan's angels weren't.

Follows (somewhat) the books that were either removed from the Bible at the council of Niecea in the 4th century or did not get included into the canonized version, because those would have confused the "unwashed" masses... - this stuff is primarily from the book of Enoch. As to where Methuselah got this sword - he made it by inscribing the blade with the true name of God... Read your books, and try to avoid those that were translated four times over - like King James' Bible for example, that was done by translating the Hebrew original into Greek, then Greek into Latin, then Latin into English. That is how you get Yeshu renamed Iesu (Greek), into Jesu (Latin), and finally Jesus, while a modern translation of Yeshua is Joshua, i.e. Josh... Cheers!

Most badass and Epic scene in a Biblical way ,but still i whould have loved with they went with 2014 Noah comic version in a matter of concept and desing art of Giants (Nephelim) ,cities,clothes and some scenes from comic that they chould have putten to fit with Biblical/ Enochian version as well as realistic taken on ,like the comic version looks like it chould have been set in Hellboy univeres 3000 or 2000 years in the past ,you know were there were First race of Man( Hyperboreans / Golden People) it chould have been quite intresting dont you think.Also remmber that this film is based uspon comic version not the Biblical or Enochian version.

The Bible doesn't actually say the nephilim were angels or human-angel hybrids. Instead, it says that the sons of God mated with the daughters of man. Their offspring, the nephilim, were "men of renown." Men of renown. Not supernatural beings, men. Sons of God and daughters of men probably means that a group that still followed God intermarried with pagans. This was something that caused no end of trouble for Israel as well, and caution against it is even carried into the New Testament. It's a recurring theme throughout scripture. These "men of renown" were probably a warrior society that carried quite a reputation. I know that so many christians want to assign magical or spiritual traits to everything, but the truth is that all the evidence ever collected does not point to angels and humans bumping uglies. Besides, humans and chimps, who are very close genetically, can't mate. What makes you think that humans and aliens (which is what angels essentially would be) would be able to do so? Especially since angels are generally believed to not have bodies.
