That's all that really matters in the end. This thing is a tank and wont ever break. The joystick may tire out, but they are relatively cheap to replace. And so did mine back then lol The only boxes I had were for the Genesis. So I am thankful for that at least 😊

What games use the NES Advantage? Many of Nintendo's early releases were based off arcade games. Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Popeye and Mario Bros. are direct ports. Balloon Fight is a clone of Joust and Mach Rider is a clone of Hang-On. Galaga, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Xevious, Defender, Joust, Millipede, the NES port of Kung-Fu Master called Kung-Fu, 10-Yard Fight, Tag Team Wrestling, Karate Champ, 1942, 1943: The Battle of Midway, Commando, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Trojan, Section-Z, Track & Field, BurgerTime, Ikari Warriors, Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road, Ikari Warriors III: The Rescue, Alpha Mission, Athena, Ring King, BreakThru, Kid Niki: Radical Ninja, Elevator Action, The Legend of Kage, Spy Hunter, Sky Kid, Tiger-Heli, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Punch-Out!! (or Punch-Out!! featuring Mr. Dream), Renegade, Karnov, Gun.Smoke, Legendary Wings, Double Dragon, Double Dragon II: The Revenge, City Connection, Gauntlet, Gauntlet II, Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf, Seicross, MagMax, Donkey Kong Classics, Bump 'n' Jump, Cobra Command, Rampage, Xenophobe, Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, Paperboy, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Bionic Commando, Q*Bert, Gyruss, Kung-Fu Heroes, Marble Madness, John Elway's Quarterback, Ninja Gaiden, Mappy-Land, Sky Shark, Operation Wolf, Tengen Tetris, P.O.W.: Prisoners of War, Guerilla War, Super Sprint, Thundercade, Dig Dug II: Trouble in Paradise, 720, Twin Eagle, Rolling Thuner, Road Runner, Vindicators, After Burner, Alien Syndrome, Shinobi, Toobin', Fantasy Zone, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Tengen version), RoboCop, Klax, Pac-Mania, Skull & Crossbones, Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road, Magic Johnson's Fast Break, Twin Cobra, Heavy Barrel, Astyanax, Mechanized Attack, Bad Dudes, Silkworm, Cabal, Super Spike V'Ball, Dragon Spirit, NARC, Rally Bike, Thunder & Lightning, Puzznic, Arch Rivals, the NES port of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game (to avoid confusion with the 1st NES game based on the franchise), Qix, Kiwi Kraze (port of The New Zealand Story), Touchdown Fever, Smash TV, Trog!, Snow Bros., Toki, Cyberball, Rampart, Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat, Joe & Mac, the list can go on and on. The NES Advantage offers a somewhat more authentic arcade style experience when playing these games. The NES Advantage has its place elsewhere. The classic Konami games, like Gradius, Rush'n Attack, Stinger, Top Gun, Double Dribble, Life Force, Blades of Steel, Contra and Super C can all take advantage of the NES Advantage's Turbo. Star Force, Mighty Bomb Jack, Rygar, Solomon's Key, Star Soldier, Compile's top-down shooters, Zanac, The Guardian Legend, and Gun-Nac are also good games for the Advantage. The Legend of Zelda, Blaster Master, Fester's Quest becomes much more playable with the Turbo function of the Advantage. The few fighting games for the NES like TMNT Tournament Fighters could benefit from the smooth motion of the stick.

i HAD the speedboard! i found it in my piles of old shit from when i was little when i was a teen and had no fucking idea wtf it was. this was in the early 00s, so i couldnt find any info on it either. this was back when i was relliving my library of nes, snes, and genesis carts. we had ALOT.... god i hate that those ended up dissapearing to life... i would of made 10Ks if i still had my collection, no joke...
@Zeeboklown6 ай бұрын
also, seeing's i had all the different joysticks when they were state of the art, i'll give u my take i had even when i was a kid, the nes advantage was and tonly one actually worth it. tho the super advantage was fucking awesome, it really was, games at that point had too many menus and the layout didnt compliment the snes what with them iplementing shoulder buttons, and things that made turbo fire not work right, and by then, they had utilized the snes pad so well that all the titles just... worked better with a decently maintained snes pad. but the nes one was an actual game changer. i used the slow button so much for castlevania 1 and 3 it was crazy. oh, and megaman until they made the pause button the menu. i cant remember when they changed it, but it used to be select was the menu and pause was pause, so the slowmo actually worked. oh, and the fact the nes one could be used as a 1st AND 2nd player controller at the time was revolutionary but NO one adopted that design, even nintendo ditched it with the super advantage, cus in the end it cut into their possible profits 😠 So yah. the nes advantage was the absolute best of all the joystick controllers of that time IMHO.

Love the vibe of this video...it's probably because you started off with a Gimmick track. Also, your studmuffin voice helps. :P Great look at an awesome controller. I've never hooked up two NES Advantages, but I'd imagine it can be done. That's the only suggestion I'd add to this video, otherwise, nice work as always :)

I had a very specific image in mind and I'm glad it wasn't lost on you 💗💗 and I know you loved that Follin at the end. I still can't believe I loved all his music as a kid and didn't know the connect😊 Good Morning!! I mean, what song would have been sweeter?! It 100% works and I didn't even think of adding that to the video.. ughh, this is why I run my videos by a few people before uploading( which I didn't do here )
@jacobprice80484 жыл бұрын
I bought 2 Advantages a few months ago, because playing Galaga sucks with the regular controller. Having Advantage controllers has since then influenced me to pick up oldschool arcade carts such as the Pacman series and Donkey Kong Classics. Also works great for Turtles 2 and 3. Still prefer the d pad for most titles, but for the more accurate arcade sports, the Advantage is a must

I didn't know it was the preferred way to play LoZ, honestly. And I'm thinking I may cover the NES MAX. It was never a go to for me and I always passed on using it. Those shitty peripherals really placed a bad image in my head that lasted throughout the years.

This joystick is an essential when playing games like commando. I didnt have the luxury of playing many titles as a kid. Now that I'm grown I plan on hunting down all these wonderful things that you speak of. Already got a hold of a Sega genesis with 6 button joystick and also a super nintendo with 6 button joystick. I will eventually get a AV famicon and an NES advantage. Still trying to get a 20 inch crt first but they are becoming harder to find. You got a nice setup there. Is that a computer monitor you got your toploader hooked up to?
@RewindMike6 жыл бұрын
This is one hell of a comment! 😍 I too was in the same boat. Not many games or accessories at my house in my younger days. I never though about getting the arcade sticks for genny or the SNES. Might have to look into those now.... And yes, I am playing on a TV which I use as my monitor with a top loader running through RF hahaha. I got it for cheap during Black Friday and thank you for the compliment! Sadly, my CRT isnt in a good place for me to get establishing shots like that :/
@javieralejandro87036 жыл бұрын
RewindMike..... Thanks for the reply!! There is no shame in using the rf hookup. I was gonna ask if you had it modded for av or rgb cause it looks pretty darn good on that monitor. I may just have to get a local toploader and go this route instead. I will definitely be looking for a monitor like this now. And just to help out the sega genesis 6 button joystick is probably my favorite of the two I currently own. The snes one i have is made by asiicware and is not bad but it comes in at 2nd place. NES advantage is at the top of my list for sure now thanks to you!!
