Dan can you do a tutorial on how you use EQ's? Some of your EQ's look very specific. This would be a great help, I think the way you are mixing these basses are quite often the clearest sounds I hear on KZbin tutorials! Love always xoxox

I think you guys are missing my question. I know how an EQ works. And how you can sweep for frequencies and notch them out etc. Again I would say that's basic shit. My question was more on the lines of EQ mixing basses TOGETHER for a cohesive sound. It would just be nice to see some material on it. I am happy with Dan's response that it could be academy material as I respect it's a broad subject, with a lot of it being down to taste and a well developed ear.

Loydik any basic waveshape works really and gives different tones, doesn’t have to be a sine wave

@@rafaelolivencia yeah, but if you want to repeat this process in serum and get a similar sound, sine wave should be used

It's easy to replace it. Just use a sine wave with a noise, add distortion and that's it. Don't be surprised if it will sound a little different though!

quick tip: you can select multiple plugins and press 0 on your numpad to disable multiple plugins. might save you a couple seconds every now and then

U can also get this by getting a sine in operator, put on the drive on the filter, slap on an erosion and you are done.

Those are mainly very similar basses we made in this video. Lots of saturation with higer overtones and middles EQ-d out.

2 Tipps i can give you on this is 1. try to make it wobble slower then the one in this video and very important: 2. the basses just sound so chill because of all the atmosphere and chill drums and melodys around it. Trust me that’s probably 90% why they sound so smooth, its all about the context theyre in.

Nothing. I only puled back the mix knob at the end of the MIDI clip to avoid explosive tail when it stops because of the compressors. This is all.
