Welcome back and I can’t wait for the V vlog. That’s a beautiful box set, I can’t wait for mine. I still think it should’ve been $100-$125 but I’m glad I bought it, it’s one of my childhood movies. I don’t know if you are but I’m keep my movie out of the book case because I don’t want to keep touching it plus it’ll be easier to access if I want to watch it.

Good to see you back Tim 👍I can imagine if this movie was a big part of people's childhoods that this set is a "Holy Grail item" for them and although I still think it is a bit on the pricey side I can see why people would buy it for sure ! I only recently saw the movie (English version) for the first time (on a Blu-ray rental) and didn't gel with it myself but I wouldn't mind giving the 4K German extended version a go at some point as I've heard the soundtrack is completely different (no Limahl song), the whole movie has a "darker" tone and it's actually more in keeping with what the (German) director orginally intended. Have you watched both versions yet ? Which was your favourite ?

You do get a lot for the price - the large, Book replica case, with the felt lining, all those large, glossy art and lobby cards and metal and plastic embellishments would be pretty expensive to produce. Even the custom-made plastic protector wouldn't be cheap either. it would have cost ViaVision a lot to produce this, so I get that they would want to make sure people buy this set if they want the 4k discs... However, even though Imprint stated they have no plans for a standard release, I wouldn't be surprised to see one come out next year some time. But it IS a lot of money and very understandable that most people wouldn't want to spend that much

They did a standard release on DVD, I will grab it as it's still the remaster until they release the 4k without the book .

It's far too massive for one film to have on my shelf so I'll have the smaller slipcase on display and the book will be carefully stored away.
