its just gonna be a loomis solo album. nevermore was more than the sum of its parts and on top of that a huge part is gonna with warrel and also tim. they should use a new name, new concept. its gonna suck. same vibes like the pantera "reunion" which is total BS. they should just call it something else and respect everybody. this is just screaming money grab for the name. if they try to revive nevermore it will fail anyway because 2 key members are gone. so by using the name it will either be forced to be something akin to nevermore just not as good or it will be something completely different which then makes no sense with the name. i hate the fact they tarnish the name of one of my fav bands for quick cash

It's not a reunion, it's a reformation, Jim is retired, Warrel(RIP) is gone... Admittedly filling Warrel's shoes will be a VERY tall order. I am confident Jeff has connections and will find the right people to reforge the band. Bring on the NEW Nevermore. 😎🤟

This is exactly what I was thinking, but even back then he wasn't exactly enthusiastic to keep writing with them and had different focuses on his visions. But now that PAT is helping other bands, this chance would be AMAZING for him.

The best fit would be Steve Smyth. Pat never really wanted to be in Nevermore he should return to CC.

@cortarelva I think until Erik rutan decides he wants to continue his band hate eternal which he never did say was done, just on temporary hiatus it would be the only situation where I can see CC hiring PAT back but I believe now that Erik is a permanent member cause I thought Erik would turn over his time with PAT but it doesn't look like it now IMO.

I stayed with Warrel for a bit before He went to Brazil... He had Every Intention to Call Jeff and Van after his new Solo Album was complete. There is a Massive Concept that runs throughout the albums and Warrel wanted to tie it all together with the last Album"S"...... Warrel had so much he wanted to say to Jeff, It's Heart Breaking that he never got the chance... Warrel is still under Contract with Century Media for a a couple albums..... and He was READY to Get Writing with Jeff... There is away to Finish the Concept of the Albums and Finally Let the Fans Realize that there was even More to Warrels Talent.... He Was a Truly Honest Singer, Pouring Out His Soul With Every Single Note and Nuance.... Weaving Lyrical Masterpieces that Could mean something So Profound to A Million Different People in a Million Different Ways Each So Personal to Each Listener.... Yet Inspire His Fans To Conceive a Myriad of Perceptions yet ultimately all paths would lead to the same Clarity and Understanding... Just thinking about Warrels Intent is Awe Inspiring and I Pray this is the course of writing that will be pursued.... The Demo Pieces still Haunt Me and Those among other remaining pieces Must Make It To Jeff... This would be the most versatile and surprising series of songs to date... Without Warrel, Many have doubts, and I understand but Jeff can Absolutely Reach Deep Inside and Pull this off with who he chooses and Van on the Drums, What an Under Rated Drummer... Absolutely Incredible Drummer... I wish I could say so much more but its definitely not my place.. Good Luck NEVERMORE \m/ Warrels Silence Has Been Deafening for Far To Long... \m/

Jim helped shape the Nevermore sound more than most people think so he does deserve credit. But Warrel Dane’s contributions were integral to Nevermore's distinctive sound, and his role as a lyricist was especially significant and that will be the almost impossible shoe to fill. I am not expecting this new Nevermore to be a copy of what it was and that is actually a good thing. Its a new chapter in the band. It might work, might not. There is only one way to find out.

Uhh you guys realize there is no Nevermore without Warrel Dane? He was the entire aesthetic and mood of the band. I keep seeing comments like OH IM SO EXCITED NEVERMORE IS BACK.. it doesn't even make sense. It literally can't work. Finding another Warrel Dane is like finding another Chris Cornell.. ain't gonna happen. Seems to me like Jeff can't get anything substantial going since Nevermore and since Dane is dead just figured he'd try to cash back in the name and the hype.

I would be happy if the new band did a mix of songs from Nevermore, Conquering Dystoopia and Jeff's solo albums. They don't even have to call it Nevermore to avoid legal problems with Jim Sheppard. I'm just happy Jeff left Arch Enemy where his god-level talent was wasted being a rhythm guitarist in a B or C level band like AE. Also, bringing in Keith Merrow from Conquering Dystopia would be a wise choice in joining the band since Jeff already has great chemistry with him.

Bass players are dime a dozen. Especially when they sit in Alaska not wanting to be with you but wanting to bitch about it? Loomis is a beast and him and Van should go out. The vocalist choice will be a thriller.

Yeah, problem is: Jim IS the Nevermore bassist, and has a beast of a tone! Plus he most likely still remembers the songs. It's still too early to tell if he's in or out. Would be stupid not to have him apart of the band but not my decision...

@@PeterSTIHL he moved to Alaska and went rogue. If the concept of his legacy doesn't make him even remotely interested to come out and the love from the fans and the chances of making some decent money doesn't speak to him; how are you then gonna get him out? Whitesnake John Sykes fans say the same but he never came back out after the last Lizzy shows in the 2000's. If Jim is so crucial to Nevermore; I suggest he puts his big boy pants on, get his Yoko Ono to shut up and go out and play. It's simple.

@@peevee605 I'm well aware that he now resides in Alaska and has had health issues in recent years. I was just making an observation on the situation. Being a fan since the Sanctuary days, he'll be a hard to replace and I will probably pass on this just like I did with the recent Pantera so called: "reunion".

@ I’m working on my debut album. I have assembled some of the best session guys I can for it and they are going for it 110%. If we manage to get somewhere, these dudes naturally gets the question to come out live with me. Why ask anyone else? But the legendary bass player doing the album has officially retired from touring. I might have to ask him to name his own replacement even. There is no hard feelings. We are all friends and in the same circle. There is zero drama. But it’s been my dream to do this and I can’t say no to a tour if my friend can’t come out with me. But then we need another musician that plays his stuff with the same groove. Can’t have someone playing straight notes instead of his signature backbeat. As for a band that has a legacy and a player has health issues and he’s grumpy and his wife is protesting about the bands business; I can’t take the dude seriously because he’s tarnishing his own legacy. And believe me. Every player can be replaced if you know what to look for. It doesn’t give fans like you the emotional satisfaction of Jim to be onstage but should Van and Jeff not go out under the Nevermore name because the bass player is stalling? Hell no. Let the young generation discover their amazing music. That would help Jim in the backend of things.
