One thing about the Enduro all price points on the lower models are all CARBON frame bikes no alloy are offered. They are $4500 on up to the S Works model so hope that helps. I have the 19’ Enduro and love it and anyone who gets this will love it as well guaranteed. The Magatower is also a great bike but to me seems more for larger guys and the Enduro seems to fit me really good even in a 29er and I’m 5’4” and ride a medium.

Just going off of paper specs, megatower makes sense for every day riding. Enduro seems like a park bike with a 12 speed drivetrain.

agree!!! It is a big bike for just trail riding. But it really depends how you ride. My local trails has a lot to offer.... Simple XC, to beginner DH, and top off with gnarly DH trails. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Megatower.

Not sure if Golden Bonner was the only trail ridden you did mention going to the park. But to mention stability at the beginning of a tech trail not sure I would be using the term stability. I would normally reference stability to high speed stability. Fast and chunky. Another note would be that you felt it climbed really well even though we all know you favor the use of the lock out. How well does it pedal in the open mode?
@moandhannahtravel
@moandhannahtravel 5 жыл бұрын
Pedals well in the open mode and I think slow speed stability is just as important as high speed! I love slow tech and some bikes tend to feel a tad twitchy in the front at slow speeds. But I gues the word composed could also work!

Great video and great review ! Thanks for taking the time to do these reviews . I totally agree with specialized sizing ,my son likes to ride a smaller bike and every time we go to a bike store they try to push a medium/large sized bike on him because of his size but his riding style is in BMX background and he likes a smaller bike .

Iam curios about only one thing, that I havent heard in any review. When you did take it to bikepark and send some big jumps and rear susp got close to bottom out, how was the pedal kickback? According the linkage the kickback should be quite high especially close to bottom out.

Haven't demoed yet a 2020 Enduro but from this review it seems Megatower and Enduro are on the same level.Based on my bike demo experiences (of SB150, Megatower, Ripmo V1, RipmoAF and many others) the SB150 climbs way much better than a Megatower, in fact the SB150 almost climbs as good as a RipmoAF but not as good as the Ripmo V1. The SB150 comes to live easier than a Megatower and inspires a lot of confidence to go airborne, it almost feels like you are floating on the trail ( Magic Carpet ride ).On the other hand the Megatower you feel more the trail chatter, it's a very progressive suspension (not for everyone), it feels slow (like an anchor) on the flatter XC trails, and it feels heavy to climb with. From my perspective I will ride a Megatower if I have, lift access, steep flowy trails, with big drops and want a very progressive suspension. The Yeti SB150 has more versatility as it can do the same as Megatower, but without beating your arms as much, it also feels lighter to pedal, smoother ride (magic carpet), more playful (easy to get airborne) and it is also a good climber.I will say the RipmoAF felt similar to a Yeti SB150 (but climbs a bit better) and for a $3,000 cost is a no brainer. RipmoAF is also metal which is a plus if you ride chunky rocky technical terrain.

@@pjsanab i just back to back tested a yeti sb130 lunch ride (137mm r 160 f) and a ripmo v2... I give the climbing edge to the yeti but the ripmo a bit more playful... Honestly tho, id go with the yeti based on the aesthetics.. The ripmo has always looked like it got its front end smashed in and bent the frame.. 😂... Both nice bikes.. But its the yeti that gives me that golden boner! 😂
@pjsanab
@pjsanab 5 жыл бұрын
Trevor Bohnsack absolutely Yeti SB130 climbs better than RipmoAF or RipmoV2. I prefer a Yeti SB150 over a SB130 after knee surgery. Only reason I bought a Ripmo V1 was cause I got deal for half the price of a SB130 or SB150. After installing a 0.6 volume spacer on the DPX2, it doesn’t bottom out when landing 7ft drops or when over shooting big jumps.
@flow2tech
@flow2tech 5 жыл бұрын
@@pjsanab ya ill be using the 0.6 as well and actually turn the existing 130 into the lunch ride by simply cutting out the steel conical washer inside the shock to gain that extra 7mm travel.. Gettimg that 130 closer to 140 is exactly what i was waiting for.. Ill be doing a frame only build and got 20% off on a 2019 frame which is the same as the 2020 just with more graphics. Pretty stoked tonown my first yeti..

MTB Bros MTB Bros hey bud, not that you’re asking me but I had my heart set on a megatower CS build so I rented one about 2 months ago and I didn’t care for it. I’d say based on the suspension design, this new enduro would feel much like the megatower with the VPP suspension.It was super planted which is great but wasn’t as playful as I’d Have like it to be. I put it in both low and high positions. Still didn’t care for it. I rode an 18 enduro with ohlins suspension and thought it felt great... found a great deal on a brand new 2019 enduro sworks. No regrets. I have no experience with the 2020 enduro but “IF” it’s anything like the megatower, I personally prefer the feel of my 19.

Nice bike but in terms of balancing climbing efficiency with downhill stability you cant beat an ebike. How about a test ride of the new Commencal Meta Power 29?

Ha, ain’t no elephant in the room, bigger than that, you ain’t gettin in the room at that price. That bike is for people that make their living racing for money or got a sponsor that buys the bike or they are billionaires. I’ve ridden S-Works stuff, it’s nice but I’ll make due with my 4 year old Stumpy I scored on EBay. Good real world review, appreciate it.

I don't get it when people say that trails are blown out. IMHO mountain biking should be challenging to a certain degree. I don't like the fact that BMX has changed over the years to these manicured pump tracks basically. These sports where modeled after motocross in which the track changes after each moto. I do agree that the high speed jump trails need to be maintained for safety reasons. But come on guys/gals it's called MTB'ING. Nice review

You dont seems to know that the S-works Enduro that you tested has Specializeds Roval carbonfiber wheels that has proven are more tough than Specializeds Traverse aluminium wheels. So you your talk about heavier wheels is tougher is straight said real bullshit. About 50 % of the World cup DH riders are using carbon wheels and have no problem with that they are weak. You also forgot to tell about the flip-chip on the rear damper that change head and seattube-angle, and rise the bottombracket 10 mm

Did you watch the review or are you just offended? I never said tougher I said heavier so the bike is more planted. My personal preference

@@moandhannahtravel Do you know why race cars has as light Wheels as posible ? Because they get better roadholding and the wheels follow the ground better with light Wheels Cause they have less unsprung weight. Same with bicycles. With a Heavy Wheel the bump force make that the Wheel moves longer up than the actual bump ,cause of the weight and the force that creates when the suspension moves up.With a lighter Wheel it just moves over the bump and then down again, and thereforce is more planted than a heaveier wheel. Yhats the principle for all things on wheel, nomatter it has 2,3 or 4.. Read some fysics and you will learn. and yes i saw whole your vid. Read some fysics andyou will learn that it not works like you explain it.
