If Cartier would release an automatic movement/guilloche dial size Large, then that would genuinely be perfect. I hope they do it.

I think they save that for the more expensive Tank Louis.

If they do they´ll probably price it very Cartierisch like around 5500$ for reasons not even them self understand. And that´s why JLC are the best but Cartier the coolest..

@@YoureTerrific Do you think the Tank Must or any watch for that matter appears smaller when worn with the matching bracelet? The contrast between a stainless case and a black leather strap is pretty dramatic compared to both in stainless (or gold or any color). In other words do you think the XL watch would look more proportional on your wrist if it was all stainless?

Excellent video. You really showcase the beauty of the dial in the XL, which is hard to see in most photos and other videos of this watch I've seen. Coincidentally, we have the same wrist size, so that I could see that the XL, while not traditionally diminutive, looks really great especially with that dial! Watch sizes have evolved for both men and women, and I prefer a larger size which I think is actually more masculine in appearance.

I went in wanting the Large for my 7 inch wrist, but ended up walking out with the XL. It was that guiocche that got me. Also can’t go wrong with a solid mechanical movement. I think it’s a wonderful size for a 7 inch wrist and above, but you can’t go wrong either way.

Love your reviews and love my Tank Must XL. I admit I bought mine before seeing your review but I agree with all your points. I can't wear leather and the XL was available with a nice steel bracelet (well worth the upgrade IMO). The watch looks great on my 7.5" wrist and is super comfortable and I am able to keep it on all day when I work whereas I must take my Tag off when I work as its simply too bulky. As an Architect I appreciate the timeless design and the value represented vs its nearest competitor the Reverso could not be ignored. I did consider the Reverso but I dont play Polo, prefer a center seconds and consider Art Deco a great style whose time is in the past. Anyway thanks for your work.

Great video, specially for those like me in the collecting watches hobbie. What was your decision after all this time? Did you buy it XL or L? From my point of view, and also my recommendation is to go for the XL one, and this is not for the size (what looks great in your wrist) but also for the movement. During the years, I had learned that is better to have automatic watches instead of those which need battery maintenance. So, I'd go for the XL one for that reason. Question: I'm considering to buy one, but I haven't decided if it's better to buy this one with the steel bracelet rather to buy the leather one. What do you think?

While I think the more classical way of wearing a tank is to go smaller or diminutive as you pout it, I think the XL fits just as well if we're following the trend these days. And I have to say, the XL has a more attractive dial.

Finally someone reviews the new tank collection on KZbin. I have bought the XL as I want the tank watch for so long time. But spending thousands of dollars on a Quarz watch makes no sense for me and you can definitely find a more elegant Quarz watch with lower price. The XL version is combining all significant elements from Cartier watch, that is the reason it is a great watch and I buy it immediately without a second thought. I am sure the price of the watch will increase soon for this watch.

My wrist is 6.25-in and I wear the Solo XL version. Some people think it’s big. But I like it on me a lot so it doesn’t matter. My watch collection ranges from 34mm up to 45mm and I wear them all.
@patrickbrcr3 жыл бұрын
Definitely the Large for a 7in wrist. I have a 7.25 wrist and would go with the large as well. It's too bad it doesn't come in a mechanical movement. Maybe they are saving Tanks in that size with a mechanical movement solely for their Louis Cartier line of tanks? I love Cartier, but sometimes all the sizes, date/no date models (this one looks way better without the date window!), and movements confuse me a bit. There are lots of options.

Great video, as always. I think we’re all falling back in love with Cartier via the Santos or Tank Must. Personally, I love the XL and look forward to getting one soon. We’re all torn by the concept of the Tank being, diminutive, by tradition. But, I think that’s more history than tradition. Go the XL, is the perfect size for the unwritten history.

I myself bought a large tank solo with my wrist size at 7 1/2 I figure the proportions seem right, smaller looked a bit more classy on this square watch. I figured the Quartz is cheaper to service and battery changes are not so bad with the four screws to remove from the case back.
@christ68742 жыл бұрын
After trying on both the L and XL, I got myself the XL and even though I have a smaller wrist than you (yes, I remembered your wrist size 😅), I like the way it fits me.
@rever-mi6qz2 жыл бұрын
Large looks way better on you. You know, tanks were initially designed to wear small for both men and women, watches to be worn under the radar. This gordy XL is just too flashy and too big. Also, in my honest opinion, it shouldn't matter what movement is inside a cartier tank. It's about the brand name, the design, the story and the history. Who the hell cares the large has a quartz?? with buying a Cartier in general, the movement shouldn't be something to focus on like so many people do. And remember Muhammed Ali wearing a small sized tank on his large wrist, and it works! before people are gonna attack me, it's just my opinion!
@cionm7077 Жыл бұрын
If the movement doesn't matter the size doesn't matter. Some matter more to other people. Personally I rather admire the watch than be concerned of how other people think is to big.

It’s funny, I have a 7” wrist and I own the large Santos(it was actually a very tough decision between the large and medium) but I find the Tank XL absolutely huge. It wears real bog and like you, I feel a Tank should be understated. My Santos is more of a sports watch that can be worn with a suit but the Tank really is a dress watch, IMO…especially on the strap.

It looks big even on 8 inch wrist. I bought a must xl auto one. I love it a ton though.
@joshuachua68022 жыл бұрын
I have a similar size wrist to you, the tank must XL feels a bit too big with the strap yet it felt a tad better on the wrist with the bracelet. However, after trying, I think i prefer the balanced case design of the tank americaine or the santos, perhaps a reverso.
@cgky3 жыл бұрын
Now, if only the large Solarbeat would come with that same guilloche..... Totally agree with your great experience > buyers for life comment. Started with a Santos Galbee XL 2823 32mm (my favorite) then added a blue dialed Santos de Cartier 4072. Cartier launched a global (or regional?) free service campaign for the Santos, and mine just got back after 2 months of being away. This fantastic gesture by Cartier has me looking at more of their pieces for the future.

How wide is your wrist? I find that info to be more helpful for the lug to lug. I’ve seen 6.5” wrists pull off bigger watches because they had wide but flat wrists versus 7” wrists that were narrow but round. Both sizes look to work on your wrist. Now depends on your preference. For my 7” wrist that’s 2 1/4” wide, I’d get the L since it would look more elegant. Plus I don’t want a date window and I’m good with a 2 hand quartz. And I’m sure there’s a significant difference in price. Love your vids!
