First time i liked the video before the end - and you didnt even ask for this upfront (which i hate:)))! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing! Also love how you show the raw process of artistic research, particulaly how you dont know which values to input - that's exactly how i do it everytime, like do i put a hundred? no, ok, then 0.1? Yes, that works!

Thank you for this tutorial and your work! The "Set initial state" tip is really helpful.

Amazing, I get the feeling more cool dynamic and simulation stuff is now on the horizon soon as Maxon have finally sorted all this stuff out. Thanks for this video, you always do great work.

13:30 if it´s "2 seconds" flat, does that mean that we could simply set the framerate to ~5 or so for the simulation?

Looking back at this I realize that I said to use constant shading. Then proceeded to use the slowest option instead😅 and it was still pretty fast

Hi! Thanks for the video. Can You Please check, do the Stage Object working in this update? Or is it me...
@ExpressoMechanicTV Жыл бұрын
We're certainly heading in the direction of particle based water and viscous fluids now. Now, I must get the update... ** Edit **. Just downloaded my update and set up a dynamic sim with a thousand cubes. If you want your objects to stop jiggling about, set the Collision Shapes to Convex Hulls. Works great!

Niiice
@marimar5279 Жыл бұрын
Can you explain this? how do you use convex hulls?
@fixable Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! That's probably not right about car example, when you count polygons. The default of Collision shape in new Rigid body is "Auto". If it is not Box of Sphere - it would be Convex Hull (according to documentation). So original geometry is not used. You may enable drawing of simulating mesh in project settings -> simulation -> draw -> Rigid Body Shapes. But it is good that in rigid body collision settings you may crank up Geometry Accuracy - so it would be almost original geometry!
@effectatron Жыл бұрын
Oh nice. Ok cool thanks! Good to know. But there is definitely a speed difference with polygon count 100%
@kr00ked1 Жыл бұрын
Can you apply the new rigid body to a null object and have the children get the same effect? You could in Bullet rigid body. Trying to cache Bullet rigid body physics just crashes my c4d now

@effectatron Hi. amazing review and tutorial. thanks man. BUT I have a question. my pc specs are 4070 ti/ intel i9 13900k/128 GB RAM but i can not get a smooth simulation like you and everytime c4d crashes or freezes. any tip to fix it?
@effectatron Жыл бұрын
it has more to do with VRAM than anything. Checkout my tutorial on these settings which should help you out kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKvRmmagfc2ki7s

if you disable wireframe shading it will work a bit more quicker in viewport

Yes I mention that Constant Shading without lines is the fastest. then i forgot my own advice lol

Ok but how to trigger dynamics, I dont see ghost objects in c4d 2024 only in old bullet system.
@yaldagashas3027 Жыл бұрын
I have a very important problem with dynamics. I made an hourglass using Cloner, Rigid Body Dynamics and Collider Body. My problem is that when I set the shape part to moving mesh, the playback speed in the viewport becomes very slow and I can't do anything at all. what is the problem? my system has these particulars: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I know this post is old but I wanna say that I feel 16gb ram is simply not enough.

Great tut. is there a specific workflow to convert from Blender to C4d models, especially with materials?
@effectatron Жыл бұрын
I have an old video on it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKaQinZraN1pasU&ab_channel=Effectatron but there are new nicer ways too but its about the same. easier now with the standard material

true. I did it all manually with texture files one at a time :)@@proceduralcoffee

Hi, I've got all content of simulation tag greyed out, how I fix this? Thanks.
@coeroathere Жыл бұрын
I'm really confused)) bro, in the beginning of the clip you said that in constant shading the calculation of geometry collision is 5x faster, and then in the rest of the clip you are torturing with lines on the balls slowing down the process several times, maybe dozens of times))))
@effectatron Жыл бұрын
Oh i know. that's kinda what happens when I'm on the fifth attempt of recording it. I started at 9am. finish at 2pm. crashes, errors, camtasia issues, redos etc. it happens ha
