It’s not Toyota it’s decades of reckless government spending that devalues the dollar. More money was printed from 2020-2024 than the previous 50 years combined.

The base model didn’t go up that much. While prices probably won’t go down hopefully they creep up at only a couple hundred dollars a year. Personally I like the SR5 model the best. I can’t wait to get a cheap used 4x2 model in a couple years.

I love your take on it but the 5th gen is the most imperfect perfect vehicle slash 4runner. It's so obsolete but who cares that's the one you wanna take to the dance and still wake up to 40 years later. MY 2014 SR5 4WD it still perfect. I'd rather buy a newer 5th gen. Hope prices come down more!

I’ve saved up for years waiting for a hybrid 4runner. I’ve got about 30k cash to drop on one, plus a paid off WRX. This vehicle was SO underwhelming and kinda..lame. Decided there’s no way I’m gonna waste my money on it. They needed to give me at least 25mpg city with the hybrjd; instead they didn’t bother improving the fuel economy at all. I’d buy a telluride or a new honda passport over this ANY day.

Not only that on the milage but think of the complication in a Tubo / hybred electric . not without a toyota warranty on it

adjusted for inflation it's actually cheaper then it has been the 1999 4Runner Limited had an MSRP of $38,000. In today’s money that’s $72,000. The 2025 4Runner Limited is $55,000.
@FiatIsTheft548 күн бұрын
@ false. The 1999 4Runner had a base model MSRP of $21,118 and the highest and Limited model 4WD of $35,808. This equates to $39,865 for the base model and $67,595 for the Limited 4WD model.

I wish the sr5 had a softex option. It’s fake leather! It shouldn’t be a “luxury” option. Alternatively, I wish the higher trims didn’t have the body cladding.

I’ve got a 2nd vehicle purchase coming up in the next year. I don’t know if I can stomach the price of a Tacoma or 4 runner. Time will tell. I don’t trust their reliability right now and their moderately equipped models are priced insane! I keep vehicles for lengthy periods. I’m currently into a 175k mile 2nd gen Tacoma I bought new back in 13’ and it’s tastefully modded out w/ no rust. I don’t have faith the next gens would last that long without major shit needing replaced.

It’s incredibly overpriced because they know customers need to come back for that turbo maintenance. I mean, there is no other reason for it. 🤷♂️ let the fools spend their hard earned time on a turbo four-cylinder. I mean turbo’s already worked great for Volkswagen. oh wait, WHERE ARE THE TURBOS NOW?!!! NO ALOT TO BE FOUND!!! Toyota is rubbing your hands together to get more cash out of these fools and their money. People have no clue how much has changed at Toyota recently.

Does 'engine aesthetics' matter all that much when for 99% of folks, the only person that'll be opening their hood is the service tech at the dealership?
@briandittore78658 күн бұрын
Agreed, I steered clear of the new Bronco for this very reason. It looked like someone vomited hoses and wires all over the top of the engine.
@triadxtechnologies8 күн бұрын
@@chibbyylol This is not just about aesthetics, it is about engineering. (Good engineering however results in better aesthetics.) And, I would expect better engineering from a $65K off-road vehicle. But, you are right, there are some people (but I doubt 99%) that just drive their off-road vehicles to the grocery store and mall. For those of us that do use this these off road, in remote areas, in rough terrain, and don't have access to service techs at the dealership, this can be a nightmare. A well-organized engine bay allows for easier access to components. This is crucial for routine maintenance like checking fluids or replacing filters, but becomes even more critical when diagnosing problems or making repairs in the field, far from a service center. (I am sure the Chloe get's this as well, since I know she like to do her own maintenance.) There is also the fact that exposed wires and hoses are more vulnerable to damage from debris, rocks, and branches encountered during off-roading. A well-designed engine bay offers better protection for vital components. Besides, loosely routed wires and hoses are more susceptible to chafing, wear, and tear from vibrations and constant jostling from driving in rough terrain. Properly secured components are less likely to fail due to these stresses.
@chibbyylol8 күн бұрын
@ thing is if this had an engine cover, nobody would say anything at all about how complicated it looks. There are various naturally aspirated engines that without a cover are quite crowded as well
