Great to see you back, Nathan! That Sienna is an excellent vehicle. I have a 2017 SE with the V6, and we love it. The downside to tje new hybrid models (you guys covered this when it first came out) is that the middle row seats are no linger removable. I believe this has something to do with the battery pack placement? Nonetheless, that is such a shame!!! I can fold down tje rear seat, remove my middle row, throw down a tarp and it's a huge space to load up with almost anything. All the best to you and your family, hopefully California is going well for you all.

‘think the none removable middle seats has to do with the built-in airbags
@themonsterunderyourbed940824 күн бұрын
It has nothing to do with the hybrid drivetrain. It's because the seats have airbags in them and they are needed for safety. The battery pack in Toyota hybrids is basically the size of a vibrator battery.
@shawnhumphreys350424 күн бұрын
Keep in mind also that the seats are still technically removable, just require some extra steps, but there are video on how to do it while turning off warning light. Not sure if it voids warranty if caught, so proceed with cation, but still an option.

@Rickmakes23 күн бұрын
@@ninurabandara3180 You can get portable fridges. Most portable fridges that small use a Peltier cooler which is not very good. Portable compressor fridges take up a bit more room and would work well in the back but not between the seats. If this built in fridge is using the car's AC system, it is probably going to work well. Here’s what his van should have Toyota at a $60,000 price level… 1) Pano Roof 2) Power lumbar for pass frt seat 3) Why no Safety Sense 3.0 instead of having a 2020 version 2.0? 4) Cooled as well as heated second row and a heated third row. Even though the seat materials are cheaper in the third row don’t make passengers back there feel totally like they’re unimportant 5) Why sill no new gen 5 hybrid tech? Kudos though on power tilt/telescope steering column, also hybrid technology combined with all wheel drive and for having genuine leather on platinum trim in first two rows should be all three though. Lastly HUGE kudos on an amazing humanity driven standard across the Sienna line movement detection sensors in the vehicle when turned off and locked and exited to prevent children or pets being locked up in the heat accidentally. I’m surprised that Nathan didn’t mention this one a class exclusive and Very great safety feature.

@michaeloliver233723 күн бұрын
Honda had the built-in vacuum idea years ago. $60K for a minivan? Nope. Not affordable for many families. Car companies need to stop trying to sell loaded vehicles at ridiculous prices like they were able to do during the pandemic when there were limited vehicles due to the chip shortage and low interest rates. Way too many tech features that aren't necessary beyond the safety ones. Buttons and knobs work just fine and are less distracting. What is needed are basic vehicles without all the doodads like heated seats, worthless DVD screens (kids all watch videos on their phones now), etc. Navigation isn't even necessary any more as most people use Google Maps on their phones, which doesn't need expensive updates. Better to just make a standard feature of an adjustable phone mount. I won't even mention that hideous front grill. Seems the Toyota/Lexus cow-catcher/Darth Vader designer is still in charge.

Meh. Toyota makes good quality vehicles and that's really the only benefit at this point. To get that good quality, you usually have to search for the make and model you want from various dealerships because their allocation rules are so unique to the industry that it makes it really hard to find the make, model and color you want. Dealers also know just how in demand these minivans are and usually charge a crazy markup. By local dealership told me it would be an extra 7K for a Toyota Sienna minivan. At that point it's just not worth it. The built-in vacuum cleaner might have been cool in 2014 when it was first introduced in the Odyssey, but today it's kind of silly. My wife has a Sedona and has a little portable vacuum cleaner in it that she'll just move into whatever her next minivan is going to be. Battery portable and rechargeable vacuums are commonplace and no one wants to be limited to the length of the vacuum tube anymore. Also, that center mounted screen is so outdated. Most SUVs and minivans nowadays have the rear screens mounted to the headrests so each person gets their own screen. Who wants to be looking up at the ceiling and sharing a screen in 2024? Makes it look super dated. Also, Toyota has to be thinking it's 2000 with that drink chiller. Every adult and child I know nowadays has an insulated beverage holder of some kind. Even my 4-year-old has to bring one to school everyday. Refillable bottles and bottle fillers are commonplace. Personally, if Kia gets the quality up a bit higher there and adds AWD to their hybrid Carnival, they would kill it in the minivan segment. Everything about the Sienna looks dated from the outside to the inside to the features.
