Dude you can argue the Kia hybrid engine is new, but you keep comparing it to the other 2 as if it is a problem when it has the same or better performance but with a better warranty and yet no reason to justify the bias! As a Kia MINIVAN owner for the last 5 years, the engine has been solid and it's performance has held up against sports cars and blows every SUV out of the water! I also own a Toyota Camary and love it and think it's one of the best built cars ever! But the Kia is overall stronger

Despite being the oldest of the three, I'll still choose the Honda Odyssey because it's actually nice to drive, and the 3.5L V6 is such a gem. Sure, the V6 still has a timing belt, but you only have to replace it every 100K miles. Also, I live in Southern California, so AWD is not really a priority for me.

We rent a Chrysler minivan for long trips with 5 to 7 people, the rental company here does not have any other choice. It is the base model V6 version, not the less reliable and more expensive plug in hybrid. Reviews I have seen have it driving better than the Toyota, but it is not as reliable and uses more fuel. I have heard of problems with getting warranty covered and later repairs done at a Hyundai or Kia dealer, and some in the past started to lose engine oil early. If you do buy a used minivan, the previous owner was unlikely to drive it like they stole it and lower the reliability.

I had a Hyundai Entourage back in the day. Bought new and never any problems. Put 300,000 miles on it and 9nly traded because it was 7+ years old and I wanted a change. Great video. I would pick the Toyota as my first choice but. Ould be perfectly happy in the Honda too.

What I like about you reviews is that yo never try to hide the truth. Unfortunately most of the "professional" car reviewers at best just hint secretly at the real issues such as poor reliability, many just bashfully pool them under the rug. I'm also fond of your common sense practical approach, as opposed to many's sensational excitement. Thanks for doing it, Shari!

Odyssey looks like some kind of Hearse.....The Sienna like an angry fish. Toyota no matter how hard they try can't seem to figure out American tastes in style. One area where the Kai has it a bit more figured out.
@yazars
@yazars 25 күн бұрын
A maintenance disadvantage of the Odyssey is that it has a timing belt and will require costly replacement around 100k miles. The Carnival's warranty is nice, but there have been too many stories of people's cars sitting at the dealers for weeks due to battery drain and other issues. The Carnival's tech and interior are nicest. Odyssey is the best value for the dollar imo. The Sienna is most difficult to find in stock, but supplies are improving. Don't pay over MSRP!

Yes! Never pay above MSRP! That belt on the Honda costs 500-1500 depending where you get it done. Not that expensive for something you do once. If you have to do it twice that’s even better cause it only means you’ve saved tons of money by not replacing your car for a long time. My dealer used to charge 900 in 2020 for this service. Not bad.

Sorry to hear you lost yours. I still have my 07 Sienna with 190K miles and will drive it into the ground. It's got more cargo room than any of the new line ups. Not to mention the simplicity and practicality of it. I often get 28MPG highway. I can remove middle row seats and can climb into the rear of the vehicle to attend to the kids without having to get out in the rain and cold. With these new vans you'd have to stand out there in the rain and snow pouring on you while trying to get a squirmy kid in a car-seat. With the 07 one can quickly pop the kid inside and get inside yourself...turn around, go back and buckle them in while staying warm and dry. These new models filled up with all this clap trap is a big turn off to me.

I for one don't want all the high tech unnecessary clap trap! I find these big screens particularly the one's that rise above the dashboards a major eye-soar distraction. I like elegant simplicity in a vehicle and don't need or want all the excess BS. I like spacious van like interiors where you can climb into the rear seats from the front if need be like in my 07 Sienna. These vehicles are becoming less vans and more like vans trying to identify as a car! I just don't care for it. I'm buying a van because I want a van with all it's practical functionality, not a car. Add to this the insane high prices and supposed supply chain issues these companies can stick it up their rear end as far as I'm concerned! Until they get their act together instead of playing the games that they're playing then they can forget it! I'll hang onto to my older vehicle as long as possible.

Based on what you described on 3 Mini Vans. I think the Sienna Hybrid is the best one because it is saving Gas and AWD.because I leave in Chicago where there is lot of snow in the winter. The only thing I am concerning is the 2025 Sienna doesn't have the spare tire that come with. What can we do when we have a flat tire on hightway?
@JTTTTx
@JTTTTx 4 күн бұрын
The spare is an option on most trim levels. You can’t get the “ottoman “ seating if you want the temporary tire, however. Get it with the van from the factory as it’s a 125.00 charge then as opposed to 500.00 to 800.00 if you want it done later..

Do some research on that 1.6 T. Kia and Hyundai have had some major issues with that engine. My wife’s Tucson has that engine and the engine was replaced at 85,000 miles because of massive oil consumption issues. I was excited about the Kia hybrid but that engine was a poor choice. Should have put the 2.5 in there with the hybrid. If you buy the Kia, save all your oil change and maintenance receipts. If you have engine issues, they will require all that paperwork. Our mechanic kept the records, so we had no issues submitting them to Hyundai. After 4 oil consumption tests we had a new engine but were in a rental for a month while it was being repaired.
