Been the fan of adidas for sometimes (Barricade, SoleCourt boost etc). I tried TS990 and felt very disappointed. My heel hurt almost every time I played. I think it has something to do with the insole, similar to the artengo low end. Luckily the bottom part of TS990 tears a bit in 2 weeks, so I went to the shop and exchanged it for TS960... wow. Probably the most stable shoe I ever played with. I mean, SoleCourt boost is stable, but I felt it hold me back the balky outer sole, but this TS960 give me same stabilities and also the flexibility at the same time.

I use their most expensive shoes TS990 (the ones with Pebax)... I'm loving them so much and half the price of large brand shoes

Hello! May I ask what's your experience with them? Are they still rocking or are they dead now?
@Bigwolftennis3 жыл бұрын
Definetly they gave a big step forward with those shoes. Here un Europe are available in black, as you've shown, completely blue ones and for clay court black and orange ones. Also there is a lighter version, the TS 990 with the same outsole and cushioning featuring Pebax instead the ArkStab, recomiended for fast movers or lighter players. They are progressing a lot in the tennis world. Greetings from Spain. Great review as always!!!

¡Hola!

No te arrepentirás.

Gracias!

I just started getting into tennis. I'm 55 years old. I was taking tennis lessons thru parks and recreation. Right of the bat i rolled my ankle and broke my 5th metatarsal. I'm still in the boot. I was wearing running shoes. If I get back into tennis I'm definitely going to pick up some tennis specific shoes.

man, sorry to hear that. yeah, as much as I wanted to play in running shoes my gut told me not to. I just got used to the heavier tennis shoes amd haven't tripped, rolled my ankle or anything. there is something to that. I am 53.

I've switched between Ascis/NB tennis shoes and Merrell's Barefoot Trail / Vibram Five Finger. I find that modern tennis shoes "entomb" your whole foot. For someone like me with a wide foot and high arch this is dreadful. I'm less tired with less cushioning. NB used to have a minimus tennis shoe and that was good as well. I wonder if the old Stan Smiths would work today.
@dandalee3 жыл бұрын
That's so interesting that you've mentioned this. I, too, an starting too wear my barefoot shoes more and more as I train, although my feet aren't quite used to a full two-hour match yet. But I'm getting there, and my footwork is so much better because of less clunky shoes.
@ronj94483 жыл бұрын
@@dandalee Thanks for the reply. I hope other people see this and give it a try. What is fun for me is to be able to play a two hour drill class, then go to the gym and lift weights, then do all my errands later that day in the same pair of shoes! If you look at the videos of players in the 1960s and 1970s they were running all over in a serve and volley game with a pair of Stan Smiths.
@dandalee3 жыл бұрын
@@ronj9448 Agreed. It's completely changed my life for the better. I'm using Whitin trail runners (on Amazon for around 35 bucks) and I absolutely love them. I do have a pair of Artengo tennis shoes but they feel like bricks to me after wearing barefoot shoes. The ones in this video look like little SUVs.
