Truly appreciate this review. Garage Built Gear has some really cool stuff. I'll be upfront, that is a HUGE EDC kit. You throw something like that into your now reviewed Mystery Range 15L that is your current EDC, it would take up a major portion of the main pouch. I think folks approach EDC as needing everything to include the kitchen sink. You can what if and look at options for every scenario and you'll find yourself hauling far too much. Find things with multi-uses; look back over a month at what you used, etc. Far too easy to just have too much stuff.

If you want to add another knipex tool to your kit get the one they call pliers wrench. It looks like what you have only the jaws are flat and smooth. They stay parallel and adjust like the other pliers. It's like the pliers and a crescent wrench together. They don't slip like a crescent wrench can because as tight as you squeeze the grips the grab but if you let off they index around fasteners. They are so handy they're my go to tools for everything except where a socket and breaker bar are needed.

As a woman on a farm I do take a little offence. My EDC is invaluable to me and while I do not carry a kit like this (this would be a ridiculous amount of weight to carry on my person and too many tools where I would place it in a road kit or go get the actual tool for the job if at home) I find my EDC to be invaluable to meet my everyday needs. I carry a Leatherman Surge with the bit extender/ratchet, a hankey, a Leatherman Micra (fits in all jeans and overalls that have a traditional watch pocket) and this small scissors even opens my kids snacks. My hankey has been used for everything from a sweat headband, tied on the end of a livestock training pole, worn as a face covering for dust, tied over my head to keep sweat and hair back, blow my nose, wipe my hands, wrap up a small wound in the field on myself or livestock, dipped in the lake and laid over a minnow bucket to shield from sun and keep cool, to so many uses I simply can't remember all of them. I do use my multi tool as I may find wires from fencing loose or sticking up or loose screws. I use it around my home vs going and getting my drill gun or even a screwdriver out because it's on my belt or in my pocket so it's within reach. I cut open bales of hay with it. I can even whip out my micra when my nail breaks in the field and file the edge down so it stops catching on everything, like the inside of my gloves. I have no argument that some people take "EDC" (it's not EDC if you aren't carrying it everyday) to obscene levels and the weight of the items is incredibly unrealistic for the average person to carry with them and that the tools or amount of tools are unlikely to be used on a daily or frequent basis, which makes it not actual EDC. It never used to be called "EDC" and growing up, even as a girl, I was asked if I had my wallet, pocket knife and eventually a multitool (had to earn my stuff), my hankey, and my stuff together as it used to include things like a watch where now it includes a phone. In farming, fishing, and hunting I was not to not trust a person w/o a pocket knife and a man without a hankey had no manners. We simply didn't have a name for it as it was expected and we know to not carry so many tools or so much weight because we would be expending too much energy doing so. It's foolish. It's also not only for men as the women I am friends with carry like I do and know just as much as these men do about tools. Maybe it's jewelry to some women to have their Leatherman engraved with their name on it and given to them for an achievement or completed major task like helping to raise the barn, getting their first deer, or training their first horse.
